Job Description

:

Security of Plant & Township : Plan, organize & control security arrangements in plant, mines & township area to safeguard units assets & employees.

Handling of miscreants.

Oversee vehicle checks at security Gate.

Organizing patrols in township and around plant boundary.

Vigilance at all entry/exit points.

Ensure no encroachment by outsiders.

Handling of unlawful activities.

Provide intelligence services to Management.

Keeping constant vigil on the trade Union activity and the unruly elements.

2. Fire-fighting Services:

Ensure maintenance of fire-fighting equipment and operate during emergencies within short notice.

Scheduled check up of systems/equipments.

Training the staff and workmen in fire-fighting.

Maintaining all equipments to required levels.

Coordinate with Govt. agencies & other units to arrange additional resources.

Timely replacement/refilling of portable fire extinguishers in various Departments.

3. Liaison :

Liaison with law enforcement authorities and Road Transport Officers for supporting the business activities of the Unit

Building relationship.

Interactions and socializing

Helping them wherever possible

Inviting them on special occasions in the Unit.

1) People Management:

Build & sustain a conducive work culture by effective management of people to improve productivity, growth and motivation levels of employees to institutionalize best organizing practices in the unit.

Fixing up of performance objectives.

Performance assessment of subordinate.

Appraise subordinate.

Appraisal feed back to sub-ordinates.

Maintain discipline.

Manpower planning/rationalization.

Identification of training needs.

Impart/recommend training.

Multiskilling.

Roll clarity to job holder.

2) Safety Assurance

Ensure implementation of all safety provisions for workmen & self

Ensure use of PPE

Take work permit before carrying out any job

Implement all safety provisions as per SOPs.

3) Quality Systems

1) Implement ISO, EMS, WCM, SA8000 & OHSAS related activities to improve productivity & quality standards.

Identify and execute improvement study and kaizen.

Identify & get rectify.

- Abnormalities.

- Spillage/leakages.

- Unsafe conditions/practices.

5S activities.

- Points emerged in campaigns..

Execute implementation plan for

- Strategic quality projects.

- Quality improvement objectives.

- Improvement of WCM criteria score.

- EMS targets.

- Internal customer rating improvement.

- ISO system improvement.

- Statutory compliance.

- Elimination of muda.

Prepare/present weekly/monthly WCM presentation.
