Job Purpose:

Job Exists for supervisory control(From PO placement to delivery of material to Vendor payment) over all Engineering Procurement activities and contracts related to Engineering being carried out. New Vendor/contractor developments as per need arises, Cost saving and Capex Monitoring.

Job Context:

Supervisory control(From PO placement to delivery of material to Vendor Payment) over all Engineering Procurement activities and contracts related to Engineering being carried out. Also to process requirements received from critical Departments like Civil, Mechanical, Air Conditioning, CS2/ACID Plant, CSR, material and manpower arrangements for Machine/Plant Stoppages, Chimney related requirements and all type of emergency requirements, separate working to be carried out for developing professional contractors in the field of Civil, Mechanical and Air Conditioning with special focus on 100% legal and safety compliances to make the workplace safe for working. Also to ensure timely delivery of material with sustainable cost saving and fast CAPEX ordering & monitoring to get the fast desired benefits.

4. Professional Vendor/Contractor Development (remote location/high rates in Dahej)

5. Timely deployment of resources for Emergency Situations/Machine stoppages

6. 100% legal and safety compliance of contractors.

7. OEM s not offering credit terms o Increasing rejection rate at right price .

8. Better negotiation in most scientific manner and within budgeted cost.

9. Agreements for high value items and critical services.

10. Facilitating Benchmarking with the group units and networking with the major clients for equipment / common items .

11 Cost reduction and improve reliability of incoming material by vendor development.

12. Motivate subordinates to meet the targets and improve productivity.

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities:

A. Cost Optimization : Opting for more items in Existing Rate Contracts Increasing no of rate contracts Allot contracts for bigger time frame Development of competitive Vendors/Contractors Common Negotiations Increase coordination with CPC in procurement of CAPEX More than 1Cr

B. Timely process of Indents: Continuous monitoring of Indents Immediate action on urgent PR s Ensuring processing of indents within defined time frame as per SOP Meeting/Coordinating with representative dept s for clarity of technical queries/technical comparatives.

C. Procurement lead time: Continuous monitoring of Pending delivery Incorporation of LD Clause in most of the orders.

D. Safety Compliance: Ensure 100% Enablon Entries of Engg Purchase Attend Safety PR s on priority to reduce process Lead time. Responding to safety quiz daily basis.

E. Rejection Control: Issuance of warning letters Development of new vendors.

Relationships:

CIVIL & CS2/Acid Dept (Mechanical team) -

  • Daily - Manpower resource deployment, PR Release status, Technical comparative follow ups, day to day requirements.
  • Daily - Manpower resource deployment, day to day requirements.
Accounts, HR/ER/Services, Stores team & TRADC/FRC/PFIC -
  • Daily - Payment follow up of vendors and contractors, Resolving issues related to LD, Penalty /delayed services As and when required - As per requirement
  • Daily - Resolving queries and monitoring deliveries As and when required - As per requirement
Contractors - Vendors - Service Engineers -
  • Daily - For Quotes and Manpower follow up
  • Daily - For Quotes and Delivery follow up As and when required - As and when required
Transporters (Stake holders of surrounding villages) -

As and when required - As per requirement As and when required - As per requirement As and when required - For urgent custom clearances.
