Planning for necessary changes in view of recent legislations to drastically reduce emissions and discharge as follows:
Ensuring installation of evaporator and crystaliser towards decreasing RO reject to zero liquid discharge within February 2020, as per verdict of SC, through treatment in ETP/WTP
Ensuring installation of crystaliser for significantly reducing semi solid disposed as SLF to the stipulated 4 MT.
Operational Excellence
Supervising the utilities section for
Generation and supply of budgeted plant water, soft water, de-mineralized water for consumption at the plant as well the colony through the operation and maintenance of the WTP, ETP, RO Plant and proposed ZLD plant.
Sewage treatment and discharge as per specifications the operation of the STP
Budgetary Controls
Conducting surveys and weekly meetings with the energy cell, environment cell and respective HODs to discuss energy saving avenues.
Decreasing expenses incurred on WTP/ETP operations.
Decreasing expenses incurred on purchase of water by measuring output, input and leakage of water through water meter and recycling the same to reduce water consumption.
Ensuring recycling of cooling tower water
Ensuring elimination of penalties for excess or short daily consumption of LNG through optimum nomination for daily gas supply by the ETP-WTP section
Compliance
Getting the unit audited every year by the external environmental auditor for both PCB and Ministry of Environment and file an Environment Statement by 30th September each year declaring emission levels, consumption of raw material and water
Obtaining environmental approvals, and ensuring continuous compliance of the Forest Conservation Act 1980 through liaison with the Ministry of Environment and Forest at Delhi and their regional office at Bhopal as well as the Forest Department office at Bharuch.
Restricting emissions within permissible limits by monitoring and calculation of gaseous emission, quality of process water, waste matter and waste water through the Environment Lab.
Ensuring monitoring and monthly calibration by independent agencies of environment and pollution control equipment attached with the process.
