In this role you will be a member of the ServiceNow Platform team, where you will provide hands on Test & Release leadership for all rollouts, releases, integrations and upgrades. You will be responsible for ensuring a clear and detailed testing structure is followed, while producing Test Approaches, Test Plans, Scripts and completion report. Testing will cover all phases of the SDLC, with specific focus on SIT (including technical testing), UAT (working with the business users) and regression testing. You are also responsible for managing the release cycle through all environments and streams, including owning the Release and Environment schedules. You will further be responsible for maintaining the lower-level ServiceNow environments (DEV & UAT) in the appropriate state for testing. Reporting to the Head of the Global QA Hub within the Cross Platform Services team, this role will be working in the ServiceNow stream, and responsible for managing the Test & Release analysts within your team, whilst working with and supporting the wider Test & Release team.
What you'll be doing: TESTING

  • Define & document the Test Delivery Strategies, ensuring key milestones are achieved, quality standards are achieved, risks are identified, communicated & mitigated
  • Working with the ServiceNow Platform team to define the test approach for key functionality, including a combination of automated testing through ServiceNow ATF; third-party test tooling; manual testing
  • Execute the Test Processes which are used for all Planning, Execution & Implementation processes
  • Ensuring all areas & types of Testing are performed, ranging from SIT, Integration, UAT, Automation, etc
  • Continuous monitoring & improvement of all supported processes
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, at all business levels, including senior management, client and supplier level
  • Work with functional Process Owners to plan, communicate and coordinate test phases
  • Work within constraints of budget and resource to optimize approach to both testing and release management
  • Working with the ServiceNow Platform team to understand evolution of the ServiceNow platform, through the introduction of new business functionality. Develop Test Delivery Strategies to accommodate these new capabilities.
  • Working with ServiceNow to maintain clear understanding of release schedules and future functional changes
  • Challenge existing ways of working and develop innovative solutions to improve time to Production
  • Manage team members in execution of project outcomes
  • Plan, monitor and manage test approaches (SIT, UAT, regression and all other test activities) to track and monitor health of build and level of defects
  • To evaluate risks and issues while also feeding back to Programme governance on potential challenges to timelines associated with release plans across environments
  • Support the lifecycle model for the delivery of all Rollouts, System Changes & Upgrades
  • Able to communicate complex issues in a digestible form (to both Business & Technical teams)
  • The ability to work effectively with remote teams (covering different cultures & jurisdictions). Providing leadership and guidance whilst demonstrating an appreciation of the challenges for remote teams.
  • Maintain, Approaches, Processes and Templates to enable an enduring capability to validate the quality of Rollouts & Releases
  • Report Programme level test status, ensuring that test progress at all stages is timely, accurate and relevant
  • Advise and consult on Best Test & Release Practices
  • Implementing and helping to continuously improve the global testing tool set
  • Ensure that reporting and communication of plans, progress and issues is delivered in a timely and effective manner
RELEASES / ENVIRONMENTS
  • Define and plan Programme / cross-workstream environment usage
  • Work to guarantee smooth, predictable and timely delivery of Rollouts/Releases
  • Determine the readiness of each release based on release criteria, quality of release and business/system readiness
  • Ensure validation of all releases to Production environments, to ensure releases are successful, without issues impacting End Users (including smoke testing release out of hours)
  • Managing Upgrade projects to the Platform, including implementing new functionality via the Change Management process
  • Define & maintain Test Environment, as well as Release/Environment schedules
  • Ensuring environments are ready and available to support the existing Programme and BAU activities
  • Review and Approve Deployment & Release Notes produced by Release teams
What you'll need:
  • Experience of ServiceNow solutions
  • Proven Experience of successful delivery of multi project, multi system deliveries in a complex global organisation for professional service organisations
  • Strong Test Management skills, covering full SDLC
  • Strong Release Management skills
  • Strong Reporting and Tracking skills
  • Relevant Technical and business understanding and experience
  • Experience with integration interfaces testing and tooling
  • Experience with testing automation tools for functional, UI, regression, end-to-end testing
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong team leadership and line management experience
