Description:

As a Senior Database Administrator, you will provide technical vision and leadership related to RDS (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) Operations on the CloudOps team. You will be responsible for maintaining and nurturing clients\xe2\x80\x99 database environments.

Requirements:

\xef\x82\xb7 15 or more years of production experience in RDS (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) database
administration in high volume Multi-Terabyte OLTP environments
\xef\x82\xb7 5 or more years of experience working within High Availability (HA) SQL Server
environments
\xef\x82\xb7 5 or more years of experience optimizing T-SQL or pgSQL queries
\xef\x82\xb7 Experience developing/modeling high-performing databases (both OLTP and OLAP)
\xef\x82\xb7 Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL servers (2014, 2017, and 2019 versions)
\xef\x82\xb7 Working knowledge of PostgreSQL Servers including AWS Aurora
\xef\x82\xb7 Experience working with blocking and deadlocking issues
\xef\x82\xb7 Capacity Planning Experience
\xef\x82\xb7 Experience Monitoring RDS SQL Server & PostgreSQL instances
\xef\x82\xb7 Solid experience related to maintaining indexes and statistics
\xef\x82\xb7 Detecting and solving Virtual Log File issues
\xef\x82\xb7 Heavy TSQL or pgSQL scripting experience for backend processes as well as for usage by
applications
\xef\x82\xb7 Experience with the development of ETL Layers and Report
\xef\x82\xb7 Solid understanding of SQL Server & PostgreSQL internals
\xef\x82\xb7 Experience designing and utilizing table partitioning as well as data archiving practices
\xef\x82\xb7 Experience leveraging QueryStore
\xef\x82\xb7 Experience in Agile Application Development & Scrum methodologies
\xef\x82\xb7 Experience with either PowerShell or Python programming
\xef\x82\xb7 Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert: Data Management and Analytics preferred

Job Responsibilities:

\xef\x82\xb7 Play a lead role in all aspects of database management including installation, patching,
backup, recovery, performance, tuning, security, and space management
\xef\x82\xb7 Maintain and Optimize functions, procedures, database queries, indexes, statistics
\xef\x82\xb7 Ensuring database integrity
\xef\x82\xb7 Implementing/maintaining database-related monitoring and alerting
\xef\x82\xb7 Analyze logs, and metrics, to find improvements to implement
\xef\x82\xb7 Work closely with both the Cloud Operations team and the R&D teams to support them in
optimizing the different product modules
\xef\x82\xb7 Discuss complex database challenges closely with the development teams
\xef\x82\xb7 Monitor and create database performance tests, making sure they stay on great levels
\xef\x82\xb7 Continuously improve the way we work Tasks: SQL Operations
Quarterly SQL Server Maintenance (Patching, Updates, etc.)
