Roles and Responsibilities We are looking for a Senior Virtualization Engineer with strong Application Hosting (cloud & on-premises), System Management, Technology and Operations background. This engineer will be responsible for navigating the enterprise-wide effort of transformation and virtualization of proprietary cloud infrastructure as part of our Cloud and Virtualization strategy through cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices. This engineer will
be able to architect, deploy and maintain high-availability, fault-tolerant private cloud systems within our owned/operated technology stack.

This individual will have the opportunity to marry these cloud and virtualization disciplines with our cutting-edge network and data analytics platforms in the exploding managed services marketplace. You will be expected to provide strategic leadership and direction for the virtualization team and contribute to the transformation of service and support practices more broadly including knowledge-cantered, community- and social- service delivery models.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Virtualization Engineer include:

• Architect and deploy cloud-based systems that meet the stringent performance and availability

requirements of the Managed Services ecosystem.

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance, high-availability private cloud environments

on- premises as well as manage/integrate 3rd Party virtual private cloud environments and provide a seamless application experience across the hybrid cloud environment.

• Serve as virtualization and cloud technology evangelist and implement scalability and

performance maturity model for Enterprise Platforms.

• Manage configuration and provision of enterprise applications from scratch or from existing templates, their load balancing, fault-tolerance and implement tools and technologies for normalized management and instrumentation of compute, network, and storage resources.
• Can play a hands-on architect role and should be able to display management and leadership qualities for the rollout of best-practices, and policies & procedures.
• Collaborate with other operational divisions and Sales in managing the cost structure and estimation to derive the best implementation strategies
• Support high visibility projects concurrently in a rapid application development environment and must be able to adapt to fast changing priorities.
• Manage and support multiple concurrent and auto-scalable Production & Test environments, system upgrades, cloning procedures, and their performance tuning.
• Define metrics and KPIs for future infrastructure management and planning.
• Plan, define, develop, deliver, maintain, and manage Operations policies, procedures, resources, and project commitments.
• Serve as escalation point for technical issues and provide supervision to prevent, detect,

identify, and resolve incidents.

• Serve as a mentor and develop effective training programs for the team members.
• Should be highly motivated, self-driven and be able to contribute individually in addition to providing team leadership.
• Establish and manage communication channels within and among departments—being the liaison to provide customer feedback to the Senior Management Team.

Desired Candidate Profile The Ideal Candidate must have:

• Minimum 5 years of direct hands-on experience in building, deploying, and break-fixing more than just purely theoretical experience
• Minimum of 3 major deployments under the belt of at least 50 physical hosts
• Experienced in handling end clients of at least 50 million in annual revenue
• Installed and deployed vcloud director, and at least one of vcops, vcac or chargeback manager
• Worked with the VSPP licensing model
• Experience in optimizing physical hosts for performance (using caching)
• Worked on 10 gigabit networks (not just single gigabit)
• Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues, experience with nexus 1000v or later.
• Must have led a team of at least 3 intermediate-grade people
• Worked on optimizing storage
• Experience with administration of major SAN platforms from Dell, HP/Nimble; iSCSI, FC and NFS protocols etc.
• Building DR sites and entire deployments
• Backup platform experience with one of Veeam, Acronis, or another major backup provider or technology (SRM is also acceptable)

Education and Certifications

• BS or MS in CS, MCA, MSc IT
• Required to have VCAP6-DCV
• Desired to have VCIX6-DCV
