Job Title: Senior US Tax Manager

The US Tax Manager is a key position within the tax department of our company. The individual in this role is responsible for managing all aspects of US tax compliance, planning, and reporting. The Tax Manager ensures that the clients complies with all applicable federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations while minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing tax benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: The Tax Manager oversees the preparation and filing of all required US tax returns, including federal, state, and local income tax returns, sales and use tax returns, and property tax returns. To ensure that all tax filings are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
  • Tax Planning: The Tax Manager develops and implements tax planning strategies to optimize the client\'s tax position. They analyze current and proposed business activities, transactions, and investments to identify potential tax implications and recommend strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Research and Analysis: The Tax Manager conducts research and analysis on complex tax issues, new tax laws, and regulations to ensure the client\'s compliance and to identify tax planning opportunities. They stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the company\'s tax position.
  • Tax Provision and Reporting: The Tax Manager oversees the preparation of the client\'s tax provision and tax-related financial reporting. They work closely with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related information for financial statements and disclosures.
  • Audit Support: The Tax Manager assists in the coordination and management of tax audits by government authorities. They gather requested information, prepare responses, and represent the company in discussions with tax authorities, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Tax Compliance Controls: The Tax Manager establishes and maintains tax compliance controls and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable tax reporting. They review and improve internal processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in tax compliance.
  • Team Management: The Tax Manager is responsible for managing a team of tax professionals. They provide guidance, training, and supervision to the team members, ensuring that tax compliance and reporting activities are performed accurately and timely.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master\'s degree in taxation or a related field is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is highly desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of US federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Minimum of [8+] years of experience in US tax compliance and planning, preferably in a corporate tax department or a public accounting firm or outsourcing firm.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tax projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in tax software and technology tools for tax compliance and reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership and team management skills to oversee and develop a team of tax professionals.
  • Business/Corporate Tax(1065,1120,1120s) review experience in mandatory.
