Regional Knowledge:
Maintain expert-level knowledge of local cultures, customs, festivals (e.g., Losar, Hornbill), weather patterns, terrain, and religious sites specific to the Himalayas and the North East.
Advisory:
Advise clients on mandatory requirements, such as
Bhutan's Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) and visa process
, trekking permits for Nepal (e.g., Everest Base Camp), and Protected Area Permits (PAPs) for North East India.
Sustainability:
Promote and book travel in line with sustainable and responsible tourism practices, respecting local communities and the fragile environment of the region.
B. Sales & Client Management
Client Needs Assessment:
Conduct in-depth consultations to understand the client's budget, interests (adventure, culture, wellness, spiritual), and physical fitness level for mountain travel.
Sales Target:
Meet and exceed individual or team sales targets by effectively presenting and selling the unique value of the destinations and bespoke packages.
Negotiation & Procurement:
Negotiate competitive rates with local suppliers, hotels, trekking agencies, and transport providers across the three regions.
Client Communication:
Serve as the single point of contact, providing proactive pre-trip information, on-trip support (often 24/7 for emergencies), and post-trip follow-up.
C. Booking & Operations
Reservations & Ticketing:
Manage all bookings, including Drukair/Bhutan Airlines and other regional flights, hotel reservations, and complex ground logistics (e.g., cross-border transfers between India, Nepal, and Bhutan).
Documentation:
Prepare detailed travel documents, vouchers, invoices, and ensure all permits and visas are secured well in advance of the travel date.
Financial Administration:
Accurately process client payments, manage refunds, and track sales performance and profit margins for each booking.
Troubleshooting:
Handle and resolve unexpected travel issues, such as flight delays, political disturbances, weather-related cancellations, and medical emergencies, calmly and efficiently.
