Job Description

We, at Jet2 (UK's third largest airline and second largest tour operator), have set up a state-of-the-art Technology and Innovation Centre in Pune, India. We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer (Manual) with outstanding track record in the field of software testing. The successful candidate would be an expert in software testing and will need to carry out all the tasks with minimal supervision.

The senior test engineer will be responsible for testing critical products within Business Apps. The candidate will report into the Team Lead and will ensure timely and quality delivery of projects. This is very much a hands-on role to test the system by designing, writing, updating test cases/scripts and performing test runs. He/She will liaise with the UK colleagues throughout the test life cycle on day to day basis.

Automation of tests remains a long-term goal so any exposure to automation and the ability to learn and use these technologies would be desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Proactive involvement in each phase of Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)
• Responsible for creating robust Test cases to cover positive, negative scenarios and non-functional requirement
• Responsible for thorough testing of all the assigned tasks/user stories, achieving own targets and supporting other team members in achieving overall team's commitment
• Good in analyzing requirements, providing estimations, designing and executing test scripts, providing detail insights to various stakeholders through detail reporting
• Accountable for making sure all the objectives of testing are achieved before delivering the product
• Work closely with your colleagues in the UK, actively participate in earlier phases of the scrum and propose a plan of action to achieve the desired outcome
• Participate in troubleshooting and drive root cause analysis and resolution
• Build test plans, test scenarios and test data to support development projects and project requirements and design documents

• Execute test cases/scripts/scenarios on schedule (Functional, Systems Integration, and Regression Testing), and open defects as needed
• Evaluate the functional and non-functional requirements for test ability and use suitable cases for automation
• Identify regression testing needs and create and maintain a regression Suite

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of hands-on end to end application testing
• Prior experience of working with UK or other regions such as North America/EMEA/APAC
• Experience in Web Application Testing, System Integration Testing, Black box Testing, API Testing
• Hands on experience in test cases design / development, execution and defect reporting
• Good understanding of database querying using SQL Server
• Good analysis and troubleshooting skills
• Experience in projects executed in Agile Scrum model
• Excellent verbal and written and verbal communication skills
• Working experience of Agile/SCRUM/Kanban methodologies
• ISTQB Certified

• Prior experience with Microsoft Test Manager, TFS / VSTS is a plus
• Exposure to Azure or any other cloud platforms
• Prior experience of BDD automation
• Prior experience in Performance testing
