We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior system administrator

In this role, you will: * Identify & manage operational risks and contribute to mitigate the same.

  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to application hosting infrastructure across DEV, UAT, Production, Contingency environments including WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal, BPM servers, IBM HTTP Server.
  • Support the project initiatives and ensure that the appropriate level of support is provided for web technology offerings to resolve infrastructure issues during the various lifecycle phases.
  • Understand and apply standards, best practices to ensure compliance and consistently maintain quality in deliverables.
  • Comply with the processes in place and ensure the agreed service levels are met with the expected level of quality
  • Review the processes proactively & consistently to implement improvement plans and to support organization objectives for efficiency.
  • Ensure high availability of services.
  • Understand business requirements and technical specifications to prioritize incidents
  • Provide required reports on timely basis on team's behalf to senior management team.
  • Apply performance monitoring / tuning methodologies to investigate issues reported for any of the web technology offerings.
  • Participate in crisis calls, DQR, and MIR as applicable following the appropriate guidelines & etiquettes. Actively participate Quality Review meetings, handle crisis calls, and provide inputs in IM review
  • Own the resolution of problems, demonstrate analytical and problem management skills to drive the resolution and prevent recurrence.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
  • Knowledge of installation of the Middleware products such as IBMIHS, WAS, Portal, BPM in compliance with organizational standards.
  • Configuration changes on existing application environments.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to application hosting infrastructure across DEV, UAT, Production, Contingency environments including WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal, BPM servers, IBM HTTP Server.
  • Provide ongoing support for problem records, identify problem situations, review the problems, engage associates to plan for investigation, work on Root Cause Analysis and provide solution in coordination with various infrastructure/application teams.
  • Own the resolution of problems in hand, demonstrate analytical and problem management skills to drive the resolution and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Prior experience with problem determination & performance monitoring tools like IBM Tivoli Monitoring, IBM Support Assistant Workbench, Heap Analyzer etc. and log files to troubleshoot issues.
  • Actively participate Quality Review meetings, handle crisis calls, and provide inputs in IM review.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc production support requirements.
  • Ensuring deliverables as per standards and quality in agreed schedule, review & documentation of processes, tasks as applicable. Follow the best practices & ensure strict adherence to guidelines.
  • Provide required reports on timely basis on team's behalf to senior management team.
  • Be able to communicate with the stakeholders and escalate in timely manner.
  • Drive and track service improvement initiatives.
  • Identify & manage operational risks and contribute to mitigate the same.
  • Understand the set objectives and work collaboratively with the team to achieve organizational goals.
  • Scripting (e.g., shell, perl, python)
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like Wily and Appdynamics
  • WebTechnologies like JBoss, NodeJS
  • Other middleware technologies like messaging, datapower etc.
  • Integration platforms like Mulesoft, Kong etc.
  • DevOps/Automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, GitHub etc.
  • Basic knowledge about cloud computing frameworks like AWS, GCP, Azure etc.
  • Awareness of newer or emerging middleware technologies
