Job Summary:

The

Senior Steward

plays a key role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the kitchen and dishwashing areas. This position also involves supervising junior stewards, supporting kitchen operations, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:Cleaning & Hygiene:

Oversee and perform cleaning of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishware Ensure all stewarding areas are kept clean, organized, and in line with hygiene standards Follow proper sanitation procedures for food-contact and non-food-contact surfaces Monitor and maintain cleanliness in pot-wash and dishwashing areas

Team Supervision:

Lead and guide junior stewards during shifts Assign cleaning duties and ensure tasks are completed to standard Train new stewards in cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and proper handling of chemicals Report staff performance or disciplinary issues to the Stewarding Supervisor

Operational Support:

Assist chefs with basic kitchen setup, transport of food items, and stock organization when required Handle proper garbage disposal and recycling procedures Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of dishwashing machines and other equipment Monitor cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when stock is low

Safety & Compliance:

Follow all health, hygiene, and safety regulations (HACCP, local guidelines) Handle cleaning chemicals safely and store them appropriately Report any maintenance or safety issues immediately to management

Requirements:

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a stewarding role, preferably in hotels or large kitchens Good knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and cleaning practices Ability to work on your feet for long hours and handle physically demanding tasks Team leadership skills and attention to detail Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as per operational needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic food safety or hygiene certification Experience with commercial dishwashing equipment Ability to communicate in basic English or local language

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
