The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and service areas. This includes washing dishes, utensils, and equipment, ensuring proper sanitation standards, and assisting kitchen and service staff in smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean, wash, and sanitize all dishes, utensils, cooking equipment, and kitchen surfaces.
Ensure all storage areas (dry stores, refrigerators, freezers) are clean and organized.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and waste disposal areas.
Collect and dispose of garbage regularly following sanitation and recycling procedures.
Assist in setting up kitchen and service stations with clean tools and equipment.
Ensure all cleaning chemicals are handled and stored safely as per safety protocols.
Refill soap dispensers, paper towels, and other cleaning supplies as required.
Support chefs and service staff by providing clean equipment and tableware promptly.
Follow all company policies on hygiene, safety, and quality standards.
Report maintenance or equipment issues to the supervisor immediately.
Participate in regular deep-cleaning schedules and assist during kitchen audits.
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience as a Steward or Dishwasher preferred (but not required).
Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Good physical stamina for lifting and standing for long hours.
Team player with a positive attitude.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Hot, humid, and fast-paced kitchen or service area.
Requires physical activity such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
