is responsible for supervising stewarding operations, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen and dishwashing areas, and ensuring proper handling of kitchen equipment and utensils. The role involves leading junior stewards and supporting the culinary and service teams to ensure smooth back-of-house operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and assist in the cleaning of kitchen utensils, cookware, and equipment.
Ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of kitchen, dishwashing area, and food preparation areas.
Monitor cleanliness and proper operation of dishwashing machines and tools.
Assign duties to junior stewards and monitor their performance and attendance.
Ensure proper waste disposal and segregation according to hygiene standards.
Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and stewarding equipment.
Ensure adherence to HACCP and safety protocols in stewarding operations.
Report any breakages, maintenance issues, or unsafe conditions to the Stewarding Supervisor.
Train and guide new stewarding team members in hygiene and cleaning procedures.
Support kitchen and F&B service teams during peak hours by ensuring clean and available tools and equipment.
Requirements:
2-4 years of stewarding experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, or large restaurant.
Basic knowledge of hygiene and sanitation procedures (HACCP knowledge preferred).
Ability to operate dishwashing machines and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
Good leadership and communication skills.
Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Team player with a positive attitude.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
