The Opportunity WW Field Application Engineering

Job Responsibilities:

• Should be able to Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex customer reported issues in a timely manner.
• Should strive to be a regional subject matter expert on Marvell networking multicore processor products and software.
• Work with our software partners and SDK team to ensure proper alignment to enable key customer designs.
• Understand and present to customers on components/capabilities of Marvell SDK and the benefits of the chip's architecture and features for their application(s) vs the competition.
• Review and assist in the debugging of customer Firmware, OS and application code
• Configuration and use of application software including, network stacks (L2 Switching, L3 Routing, etc)
• Guidance and assistance in development of customer software, device drivers, API's, and application software.
• Interface with other regional/WW FAE Team members, engineering and product management to escalate and resolve issues.
• Replicate issues and testing customer configurations in a lab environment
• Author technical knowledge base articles for use by customers, other technical support personnel, and partners
• Prepare and present technical demos and Benchmarking exercises when necessary.
• Own the technical response to customer RFIs and RFQs.

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of microprocessors and integrated SoCs. Working knowledge of multi-core ARM/MIPS processors is desirable.
• Driving and sustaining best-in-class technical engagements with Customers, and demonstrated success in helping technically to Win complex design opportunities is desirable.

Knowledge of, or familiarity with:

• Networking protocols, software, systems, and equipment
• C programming, troubleshooting, performance analysis in embedded systems
• OS internals, binutils and C libraries in Linux, UNIX, xBSD, or similar operating system
• DPDK or VPP and data plane software
• GNU tool chain, gcc, gdb.
• Device Drivers
• U-boot bootloader/ATF
• ARM v8/v9 architecture based CPUs. Experience with Marvell Octeon processors is a big plus.
• Network security (IPSec/SSL) and/or Layer 2-7 applications
• Ethernet Networking Interfaces from 1Gbps to 100Gbps, Including MAC, PCS and Physical Layer
• Board bring-up (Uboot, Linux) experience is a plus
• Debugging tools such as EJTAG debugger and familiarity with Traffic generators
• High speed communications protocols and interfaces such as XAUI, SGMII, XLAUI, CAUI, PCI-Express, SPI, DDR3/DDR4 SDRAM, etc
• Prior experience in a customer facing or customer engineering role is a plus
• Previous experience in Software Development or Software Field Applications working with embedded CPU customers is a big plus.

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics or Electrical Engineering or related fields and 9-14 years of related professional experience.

Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics or Electrical Engineering or related fields with 7-12 years of experience.
