Education

Bachelor\'s or Graduate\'s Degree in Electrical and Electronics, Instrumentation, information systems, engineering, computer science or electrical engineering with significant experience with closed loop control system using PID Algorithms

Experience

• Design, program, simulate, and test controls systems for cooling and heating systems. Hands on experience with embedded micro-controller and micro-processor based closed loop control systems involving RTDs, Pressures sensor/transmitters, VFDs, and Flow sensors etc. is highly recommended.
• Develop and Review PID algorithms, tune existing algorithms based on system level performance requirements is must
• Must be proficient in embedded C/C++, bare metal and RTOS environments
• Expert in developing closed loop transfer functions based on system parameters, perform Control system simulations using MATLAB/SIMULINK, co-relate simulation results with practical results, finetune the transfer function, implement the same in FW algorithm
• Define system level and factory level acceptance test plans for Control System performance
• Sign OFF on engineering deliverables like electrical drawings, FW releases, Test plans and reports
• Ability to participate in system level performance testing, address issues in control algorithm, resolve complex field issues, customer site bugs/failures independently
• Must have worked on selecting and interfacing standard control elements like field instruments, sensors, VFDs, compressors. Should be able to independently read and interpret the datasheets, understand impact on the system level functionality and performance
• Should be able to perform RCAs, and FMEA/Risk Assessments with internal/external stakeholders and end users to assure all functionality, agency and safety requirements are met
• Supervise/Conceptualize/ Create /Conduct & Document testing as per test plans (V&V- including functional and regulatory test cases)
• Understand, analyze, and supervise End of line or factory acceptance testing to demonstrate complete functionality of the controls system including PID controls, instrumentation calibration, safety interlocks, and alarm and shutdown classifications
• Proficient in applying Systems Engineering fundamentals.
• Travel at customer location for Inputs, RCAs and trouble shooting
• Critical Thinking, ability to comprehend the situation/ Problem,
• Firm understanding & hands on experience on working through the complete project life cycle management (PLM)
• Coordinate effectively with Project Managers and test engineers to perform the testing & technical execution
• Work independently with cross functional teams to understand customer requirement, drive system / subsystem design review and provide approvals
• Independently lead finalization of design requirements without aid from global engineering teams
• Develops product requirements and articulates technical specifications
• Build and mentor associates to develop design concepts, trade off analysis
• Own, review and approve design documents & artifacts as per design process
• Working knowledge of PLCs and Clear understanding of system interactions with SCADA/DCS system is added plus.
• Should be able to read and understand system level wiring diagrams, circuit schematics and guide CAD engineers to modify the drawings per changes needed

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• 15+ years or similar relevant experience.
• Handled at least 5 controls projects, end to end Product development experience.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC and other applicable regulatory requirements and implication on Control system design and development
• Implementation of Standard protocols like MODBUS on RS-485, Ethernet
