Job Description

The Data Engineer role will work in the Data Engineering team, which is at the heart of everything we do here at Fairmatic. The team is responsible for all things data: premium calculation, rating, data processing, and delivering critical data drive insights that empower us to make informed business decisions. You will be responsible for collecting and modelling data from various sources and extracting intelligence from it through data mining techniques to surface trends and patterns. You'll build ETL pipelines to ingest data from various sources, build data models, and be intimately familiar with them, their relationships, and derive insights based on Business needs. Responsibilities:

• Own, build and maintain the data lake/warehouse and modelling of this data.
• Design data models that will be used by teams to derive insights and drive business decisions.
• Build and maintain scalable and resilient ETL processes to continuously ingest data from various sources, and model them as per business requirements.
• Own and maintain models and dashboards built on top of these models to make them self serviceable and empower teams to do self-analysis based on their needs.
• Analyse existing data sets to identify issues due to data anomalies through Descriptive and Prescriptive analysis.

• 5+ years in data engineering, maintaining production-grade data pipelines and data warehouses that are designed to be performant, scalable and resilient.
• Expertise in understanding and writing optimised SQL queries across data sets against enterprise data warehouses such as Redshift, BigQuery, etc.
• Experience with the Python programming language, and data analysis libraries such as Pandas.
• Experience with Business Intelligence/reporting, Data Visualisation and Dashboarding tools like PowerBI and Superset.
• Experience with data modelling tools such as DBT (Data built tool) or Looker is a Plus.
• Understanding Statistical and ML models is a plus.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills, should work independently and is self-driven.
• Comfortable working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process.
