Summary

Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) is a business unit in the Product Engineering Board Area. Enterprise Cloud Services supports customers throughout their cloud transformation and SAP S/4HANA adoption journey. We run the Intelligent Enterprise so they can be an Intelligent Enterprise. Our portfolio of SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud and SAP Cloud Application Services turns SAP products into a solution-as-a-service on customers\xe2\x80\x99 preferred infrastructure, including Hyperscalers, as one SAP.

In your role as Senior Security Engineer, you will act as a Lead Splunk Engineer and be a strong voice in our detection capabilities. You will work closely with our Defensive Architecture Lead and our Chief Security Architect and you will defend SAP Enterprise Cloud Services and develop appropriate measures for detecting, protecting, and responding to cyber threats.

You will report directly to ECS Chief Security Officer and you will support the CSO office, responsible for the effective and efficient security strategy, security programs, and services.

Role

• Responsible for planning, designing, and implementing Splunk and Cribl infrastructure, including Enterprise Security and Phantom.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and analyze the overall health of log management infrastructure.
• Perform root cause analysis, recommend, and implement tactical and strategic solutions to problems.
• Automate global, multi-site solutions with Ansible, Python, and Bash scripting techniques.
• Onboard new data using various methods, such as Universal Forwarder Agent, Cloudwatch Log Agent, DB Connect, Syslog, HTTP Event Collector, Logging driver for containers, etc.
• Develop Splunk architecture, operational processes, and training materials.
• Assist and mentor other engineers with various Splunk, Cribl related activities.
• The role is an individual contributor role.

Role and Requirements:

• 9+ years of Splunk experience with design, implementation, and administration in large-scale environments.
• Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security.
• Experience in Vulnerability management with Splunk
• Experience with various log ingestion methods and related products, such as Syslog, dbConnect, and UF.
• Experience with Cribl is a plus.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP logging architecture, and related products.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Bash, Python, Node, and/or Powershell.
• Proficiency in Regular Expressions.
• Working knowledge of Linux.
• Working knowledge of general networking topics, such as DNS, routing, AWS VPC/TGW.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to deal with conflicts with your peers and users.
