Senior Research Manager S&T APAC - Taste & Wellbeing

In this role, you will be responsible for the S&T APAC team (5 scientists and engineers) divided over two sites; Singapore and Shanghai. You are responsible for the front-end innovation activities in APAC and SAMEA (India). To support global innovation projects and S&T activities in APAC and SAMEA (India).

In this position you will:

Lead Science and Technology for APAC

• Lead the S&T APAC team to develop ingredients and technologies in close collaboration with global S&T and regional innovation teams and customers
• Closely work with commercial and innovation teams in APAC and SAMEA (India) to identify innovation opportunities in the region
• Support the IDDC process and global technology rollout in the region
• Develop and grow talents in the team
• Promote and execute S&T culture, values, and strategies
• Lead new innovation projects for global impact
• Define strategy for APAC/SAMEA (India) within the scope of the global S&T organization

Lead Front End Innovation activities in APAC and SAMEA (India)

• Serve as the focal point of contact for internal and external partners
• Screen opportunities on strategic fit, high-level technology validation, etc.
• Engage with existing Ecosystem Partners to discover disruptive opportunities
• Develop new ecosystem partners where innovation is happening
• Support partner selection and execution of external clinical trial capabilities in the region

Your professional profile includes:

• 10+ years of industrial experience in the innovation areas for Bio, Chemical, and Food Ingredients and Technologies
• Solid scientific background in one of the following areas: Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science &Technology
• An advanced degree in the above fields is a plus
• Sound Business Acumen and a high level of learning agility
• Strong technical knowledge in one of the following areas: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Food Science & Technology
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong project management skills
• Demonstrates good leadership skills and capabilities in building effective teams.
• Matured and possess the ability to communicate to multiple stakeholders and represent Givaudan in front of partners and collaborators
• Skilled cross-functional communicator, should be able to work collaboratively with company executives and board members
