Role and Responsibilities A. Technology / Bioprocess development Expert in fermentation technology (Submerged Solid state), with a strong understanding of Microbiological processes, fermenter process optimization and trouble shooting. Identification Isolating cultures, strain development (Mutation / gene modification), process optimization, fermenter parameter optimization using mathematical modeling. Enzyme assay development, product analysis method development, handling of analytical equipment such as HPLC, UHPLC and UV Spectrophotometer. Experience in lab scale, pilot plant fermenter, centrifuges, filtration techniques (micro, ultra and nano filtration), different chromatography purification (Ion exchange and exclusion), evaporation and spray drying Preparation of SOPs, STPs in compliance to the process. Active trouble shooting to minimize the various risks prior to execution and during execution. Experience with DOE and statistical analysis. Data generation, compilation, review, records and trends to formulate for the upstream/downstream process development order to support and make recommendations for improvements. Handful knowledge and independent experimental designing and execution of molecular biology related techniques viz., gene identification, cloning, over expression, etc. Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and SAP is a plus. B. People and Process Development Collaborate with members within and other verticals such as Business, production QA, QC and operation team. Work closely with colleagues from Fermentation division for process scale up Accountability: Successful development and scale up and downstream processing of new products Successful delivery of technology to business Achievement of process improvements to improve cost efficiencies, product throughput etc. Ensure appropriate allocation of resources between the projects for its optimum utilization. KPI : Number of processes / technologies developed Number of technical challenges resolved No of Analytical method and assay development Essential Attributes: Development of innovative new products / process to enable company maintain its market leadership and increase its profitability. Ensure that infrastructure and facilities are conducive for creative work. Proactive planning for the better utilization and handling of resource / infrastructure Undertake troubleshooting on any issues / problems involving products, processes, or technical procedures. Ability to work on multiple and simultaneous projects Good organizational and time management skills Education & Experience Requirements: M.Tech. in Biotechnology from a highly reputed institute with 6-8 years of experience / M.Sc. Biotechnology from a reputed institute with 10-12 years of experience Excellent experience in handling strain development, various Fermentations (such as bacterial, yeast and fungal), downstream processing techniques and product purification in prebiotics, probiotics and enzymes Proven track record of scientific excellence in developing new technologies and conducting scientific studies in Nutrition & Biosciences The story of the company is about harnessing the fruits of science for goals that go beyond business.
