Overview

Location: Chennai

Position Objective:

• Product Development for Animal Nutrition & Health Industry by following the Product Innovation Process (PIP) of the company.
• Publication of scientific and technical articles in Kemin database and scientific journals
• Collaboration with researchers in academic institutions and close interaction with customers will be part of the work.

• Work Environment: Business Office
• Occasional business travel as necessitates from time to time to customers\' place, farm trials, etc.

Responsibilities

Specific

• Carry out experiments as per the direction of the research manager by following the Product Innovation Process (PIP) of Kemin
• Develop and validate new protocols for laboratory research
• Carry out a literature search and identify appropriate methods/molecules for conducting research
• Contribute to writing research reports and presentations
• Writing technical articles based on the research findings on a timely basis for internal and external publications
• Gain knowledge about animal nutrition and health and submit ideas for new product development
• Co-ordinate with stakeholders of various functions
• Carry out research work that might involve handling pathogens & animals (live animals, organs, and excreta), operating laboratory instruments, chemicals, etc.

General

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all research activities in laboratory notebooks and other forms as required.
• Protect all confidential information such as formulations, trade secrets, and other commercially sensitive information.
• Carry out research activities with high scientific and personal integrity and also by following good scientific and laboratory practices.
• Conduct all research activities with strict adherence to the health and safety policies of the company.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification & Years of Experiences:

• Master\'s degree in science with a specialization in Microbiology/Biotechnology with a minimum 3 years of research experience

Competencies - Skills required:

• Proven record in publishing research papers in journals
• Good communication (written & oral) and presentation skills
• Flexible and dynamic to work requirements
• Strong knowledge in basic science and area of specialization
• Hands-on experiences in carrying out laboratory research including handling microbes, chromatography & spectroscopy instruments
• Skilled in MS Office
• Work as a team
• Logical thinking and reasoning to solve/troubleshoot the problems
