Client: A Leading D2C baby product brand was founded in 2014 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Company is having annual turnover of around 200 Crs & employee strength of 200 employees & they are providing international safety standard certified bay products by their e-commerce website & online market platforms like Amazon, Flipkart & other leading online & offline platforms.
Job Title - Senior Purchase Executive (Import)
Working days and timings - 9.30 AM to 6.30 PM (2nd & 4th Saturday off)
Location - Ahmedabad
Experience: 5-7 years experience in import buying/global sourcing/international sourcing
Qualification - Any graduate
Key Responsibilities:
International Sourcing & Vendor Development

  • Source raw materials, plastic resins, baby-safe additives, and spare parts from global suppliers
  • Identify new suppliers and innovative materials aligned with baby product safety standards
Buying Of Plastic Moulds
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities, certifications, and compliance with international quality norms
Inventory & Reordering
  • Monitor inventory levels of imported raw materials and spares
  • Generate reorder plans based on consumption, lead times, and production schedules
  • Coordinate with stores and production teams to ensure zero stockouts
Price Negotiation & Cost Optimization
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and freight costs with overseas vendors
  • Track currency fluctuations, duty structures, and landed costs
  • Maintain cost sheets and support budgeting for new product launches
Import Documentation & Compliance
  • Handle all import documentation: LCs, Bill of Lading, Packing List, Invoice, COO, etc
  • Ensure compliance with DGFT, FSSAI, BIS, and customs regulations
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners for smooth clearance
New Product Development Support
  • Collaborate with R&D and product teams to source new materials for upcoming SKUs
  • Procure samples and trial quantities for lab testing and pilot production
  • Ensure all materials meet baby safety certifications and regulatory standards
Reporting & Systems
  • Maintain records in ERP systems for purchase orders, GRNs, and vendor performance
  • Generate monthly reports on import status, cost trends, and supplier KPIs
  • Support audits and documentation for ISO, internal controls, and sustainability goals
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of global sourcing, import regulations, and customs procedures
  • Familiarity with baby product safety standards and material certifications
  • Proficiency in Excel, SAP, or other ERP systems
  • Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers, tight timelines, and cross-functional coordination
