Program Overview for Energy

The objective of the WRI India energy program is to inform and guide India\'s transition to cleaner energy. The program focuses on three inter-related aspects of this energy transition: enhancing development through energy access, energy transitions across multiple levels - states, cities, industries and utilities, and energy governance. Through research, ground-level implementation experience, partnerships with partners and communicating our work, we seek to achieve impact at scale.

You will work with the project lead(s) and Director of the Energy Program and with our core communications team to the support the program\'s vision for equitable energy access and responsible energy sector transition for India. You will co-create an impactful communications and engagement strategy for the program initiatives and leading the implementation of the same by creating products to share our research and recommendations and disseminating them across media and through events and workshops.

You will support the Energy Program at WRI India with the following:

About your role:

Editing and publishing

Offer comprehensive support in writing, editing, and proofreading, ensuring adherence to WRI India\'s standards.

Contribute to article creation and meticulously proof/edit content.

Write press releases, newsletters, and social media material, overseeing the brainstorming, facilitation, and editing for external publication.

Conduct checks for length, language, flow, spelling, and grammar. Document on-the-ground activities, addressing challenges, identifying opportunities, and capturing impact.

Manage quality control for dissemination of emailers and newsletters.

Website & Social Media

Conduct quality control assessments for all new and revised content on websites and social media platforms.

Oversee the maintenance of current microsites; help develop create webpages and new microsites on a need basis

Understanding of and previous experience of website wireframe, WordPress/Drupal is required.

Contribute to web projects and oversee backend updates.

Scriptwriting and the overseeing of videos from shoot to final production in keeping with WRI India\'s research and projects.

Display the ability to create or supervise social media infographics/visuals and present research data in a visually appealing format. (Understanding of platforms like Canva/Photoshop is required)

Help coordinate webinars, incorporating digital planning and social media coverage in collaboration with the social media team.

Understanding of platforms like Zoom, YouTube Live, Facebook Live is required

Coordination and Other Responsibilities

Manage events, meetings, and conferences, including design execution for event collaterals and digital media.

Support the team in developing communication strategy for the project specific communication plans

Communicate with partners and vendors.

Ensure factual accuracy of all WRI India content disseminated to the media.

Uphold adherence to WRI India\'s branding and style guides in all outreach materials.

Understanding communication channels, target audiences and ability to change/creatively think about the right medium to communicate to the target audience.

Manage updates from India office and maintaining a repository of content/ stories for internal country and global coordination, and newsletters.

Qualifications and requirements we seek:

4- 7 years of experience as a Media communicator in the social sector or environmental organizations.

Excellent English writing and editing skills.

Enthusiasm and technical curiosity.

Understanding of website structures and basic troubleshooting.

Basic familiarity with design software such as Canva, YouTube Live, Facebook Live Video editing

Interest/understanding in energy transition concepts.

Salary and Benefits: 11,00,000 INR to 13,00,000 INR CTC Per annum

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.

Duration: 1 years as term hire extendable based on performance and project requirements.

Location: New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai

Start date: As soon as possible.
