Senior Mobile Developer

Purpose of Role:

Weir is charging into the Industrial 4.0 revolution building on our heritage of invention and expertise in the mining industry. As a Senior Mobile Developer, you will be a technical contributor handling the application lifecycle of our mobile applications supporting our industry 4.0 technologies. You will collaborate with internal teams to develop functional mobile applications, while working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Focus Area:

• Strong coding skills in hybrid mobile framework - React Native
• Support the application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, and maintenance)
• Good knowledge on interfaces (APIs) to support mobile functionality.
• Produce fully functional mobile applications writing clean code.
• Contribute to designing, testing, releasing and application support.
• Troubleshoot and debug to optimize performance.
• Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions.
• Design interfaces to improve user experience.
• Ensure new and legacy applications meet quality standards.
• Research and suggest new mobile products, applications, and protocols.
• Keep abreast of the latest technology for mobile applications.
• Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand their business goals and objectives.
• Should be able to lead a small team of developers (in the future).

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s in engineering, computer science, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.

Desirable: Experience in Mining or Asset intensive industry

Experience:

• Overall experience \xe2\x80\x93 7 to 10 years.

Skill sets required:

• Expert level knowledge in Hybrid frameworks esp. React Native
• Knowledge of C#, SQL, Java is desired
• 6+ years of Android or iOS experience
• Specialization in launching and releasing apps for Google\xe2\x80\x99s Android and Apple\xe2\x80\x99s iOS platforms.
• Development Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Familiarity with OOPS design principles
• Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving capability
• Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude
• The ability to interpret and follow technical plans.
• Ability to perform in a team environment.
• Be up to date with advanced and latest technologies and ability to suggest best practices.
