Job Description


The Sr Manager Medical Affairs Hospitals BU would be an individual with significant years of technical and scientific experience of Anti-infectives TA with prior work experience in medical affairs and clinical research especially in that therapeutic area.
The role will largely be that of a senior technical manager in medical affairs with more of individual contribution and very limited people management responsibilities. The individual will need to be a scientific leader in AI who will be accountable to develop and drive the medical strategy for AI
and significantly focus on building scientific networks with external stakeholders such as top KOLs and physician associations.


  • Strategic/Policy

Develops innovative medical strategy for the TA and provides technical expertise to the Commercial team that impacts the product strategy, business direction and business plans of the BU.
Mentors the Medical Advisor to provide tactical and strategic inputs for their allocated products and therapy area.

  • Operational:

Conducts following activities for the assigned products and oversees the same for the Medical affairs team members
KOL engagement- Develop, implement and lead the customized KOL/EOL engagement strategy for the TA.
Engage with external physician associations in that TA to enhance Pfizer’s scientific image
within the TA segment.
Participate regularly in customer facing events such as conferences and seminars as speaker ,
moderator or facilitator
Develop and implement a robust publication and data mining strategy for the TA segment.
Develop a robust end to end RWE plan for the TA and products.

  • Regulatory

Provide medical and product expertise for the marketed products
Provide scientific support rationale and documents for regulatory submission for various innovative products
Review labeling documents for pipeline/local products per relevant SOPs

  • Qualification & Experience

Medical graduate (MBBS) with post graduate degree / diploma (MD) in medicine or
microbiology or Infectious Diseases or Pharmacology
Total years of at least 6-7 years in pharma with at least 2 years + experience in Anti-infectives
Independent responsibility of at least one TA (at least one year each)

  • Special Skills & Knowledge

Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, drug discovery, research & development,
commercialization, promotion, and applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
Strong domain knowledge of that TA. Should have worked at least 3 years in the related TA.
Experience in publications and manuscript writing
Expertise in real world evidence methodology and conduct
Communication skills, both written and verbal (including medical writing and presentation skills)
Analytical skills and reasoning, and sound medical judgment/decision making
Interpersonal skills, internal & external internal & external networking and the ability to impact and
influence

Work Location Assignment: On Premise
