Booking Holdings has recently established it's first Center of Excellence in India that will enable an effective Talent Strategy, promote efficiency & drive strong collaboration across it's portfolio of Brands
We are seeking a Senior Operations Leader in the India COE to support its Strategy & Operations function.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience assessing & executing operational transformation needs and developing the implementation strategy
The role will be responsible for executing operations & project management best practices that will ensure timely and quality deliverables through the evolution & growth of the COE.
The Operations Lead - COE plays a crucial role in supporting and facilitating the efficient functioning of the LT (leadership team). This position requires a highly organized and strategic individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The Operations Lead works very closely with the COE Head and/or other senior leaders in the center, providing a bridge for smooth communication and coordination between various departments and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall the position will break down responsibilities as follows
Running Strategic Projects ~50%; Building organizational capabilities ~30%; Leading team member (s) small team coaching developing ~20%
Running Strategic Planning and Implementation (including process improvement): Collaborate with the leadership team to develop, communicate, execute, and sustain corporate strategic initiatives. Assist in the formulation and implementation of key organizational policies and objectives.
Problem Solving and Decision Support: Act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team, providing input on critical business decisions. Anticipate challenges and proactively address issues that may impact organizational goals.
Project manager for any one of our current portfolio of projects across organization. (e.g.
COE Onboarding Program Mgmt., Contract / procurement management, Cross functional process integrations, etc.).
Responsibilities include all aspects of managing project lifecycle and applying relevant
process and knowledge areas to ensure successful delivery of projects (including
communications and change management). Oversee special projects and initiatives on behalf of the leadership team, tracking progress and ensuring deadlines are met.
Building Organizational Capabilities. Beginning to apply lessons learned and organizational assets as inventory for other ongoing initiatives or business process improvement programs (creating tools and
templates for work plans, charters, Risk, Issue, Actions, Deliverables, change
management, requirements gathering, business cases, and executive reporting to name
a few)
Information Management: Gather, analyze, and synthesize information to provide the COE Head and leadership team with comprehensive and actionable insights. Manage information flow and ensure that the leadership team is well-informed on key issues.
Communication and Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining effective communication channels.Prepare and deliver executive-level communications, including reports, presentations, and speeches.
Team leadership and development- Managing, mentoring and coaching Sr/Project Managers, Sr/Operations analysts, etc.

The scope of work currently defined is as follows. However, the scope will evolve and the Operations Lead is expected to take on additional roles and responsibilities as the organization evolves
COE Transition & Program Mgmt
Enables New Businesses onboarding to the COE
Takes a strategic view of the performance of each of the teams and manages the cadence and relationships through Business Performance & Ops reviews
Improves the Ease of doing business index and hence increase the strategic value of COE for the Business / Brands
Workplace Operations
Facilities - improve both operational and cost efficiency
Transport - improve both operational and cost efficiency
Travel - Improve and provide world class employee experience at best cost
Events
Social & Sustainability Events
COE Employee Engagement Events
Year End Event
Procurement & Contingent Workforce mgmt.
Drive scope and cost negotiations for Non-HC procurement process & governance
Develop strategic relationship & contracts with vendors who would provide Contingent workforce solutions for short term and strategic requirements
Cross Functional Process Integration
Help in establishing new processes which require cross functional collaboration
Risk & Controls Framework - making sure COE functions are compliant and there are no Significant Deficiencies
Internal Audits - Drive the preparation and collaboration for the Internal Audit
COE Value Office
Provide Reporting & Analytics for COE which improves visibility and improves decision making
Assists COE Lead and Global PMO Lead to prepare and present Business cases for new functions
Helps define, drive and refine the COE Value Proposition
Qualifications:
At least 15+ years of experience heading Strategy & Operations of large size businesses or and / or multi-national companies centers in India especially COEs structures.
At least 5 years of solid business experience leading global strategic initiatives, within a shared services environment. Preference with experience of being part of an operations team which helped set up a COE of a large multinational company in India
At least 5 years of proven experience in a leadership or managerial role.
Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
Ability to work successfully with consulting teams and strategic partners to maximize value and accelerate change. Experience operating in, and driving alignment and consensus in a complex and matrix environment
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Experience working with global teams, capable of bringing together stakeholders, to
align requirements and drive improvements
Proven ability to interact with and influence peers and senior management in a
complex, geographically dispersed organization
Self-directed, dynamic and customer-centric change-agent who thrives in a challenging and changing environment
