Embedded Software Including Linux distributions and Android Components

The domain activities involve development of systems software for a range of SoCs, Automotive Ethernet Switches in a scalable/re-usable manner, such that Harman can deploy them across different SoCs and customer programs with relative ease. The domain applications of these components must also be scalable, with appropriate limitations/changes such as Cockpit or Infotainment only. There are multiple systems domain components such as Stack: Ethernet AVB, RTP, TSN ; Switch: VLAN, TCAM,MAC tables, serial communication protocols SPI, I2C, UART, L2 firewalls; IPNetworking: Android connectivity Manager, L2TP protocols.

This position requires technical as well as managerial abilities.

Job Responsibilities:

Driving the Base SW Advance Networking Deliveries Connected Car division, and possibly to Connected Services programs as well. The Lead will deliver solutions on complex SoCs and Automotive Ethernet Switches such that the unique challenge of driving a frameworks & tools based approach, to commonize software architecture/design/implementation, can be met. The challenge is unique, as systems components are very close to a customer, and has requirements that vary from OEM to OEM. The delivery spans across all of HarmanaAEURA(TM)s Products aAEURA" Infotainment; Cockpit Solutions; Instrument Cluster; Telematics and ADAS.

Manage a global team delivering:a, the team spans across geography, working on technologies listed in the description above (and more), across the lifecycle of a Software product aAEURA" Requirements; Design; Development; Unit testing; integration and release management. Special focus on Architecture design.

Maintain a process-oriented culture (ASPICE 3) within the organization

Talent Management Be at the forefront of the technology curve and build up competencies to address market needs.

Interface with customers and BUs for successful deliveries aAEURA" Understand customer roadmaps (both Internal BU as well as OE), influence the customer on their roadmaps, engage internal/external customer for managing the deliveries (scope, defect, technology, on-site support, debug etc). OWN the technology area and its associated delivery.

Leading a Team aAEURA" Build and develop a strong global team of software and system specialists, responsive to the needs of our businesses. Ability to attract, retain and motivate best in class talent. Promotes and develops top talent, move or change incorrect talent when needed.

Basic Qualifications

An experienced leader with expert knowledge in software development in the automotive industry. Prior experience in working with OEMs directly, is preferred/desirable.

Required Qualifications:

• Masters/Bachelors in Computer Engineering/ or Electrical / Electronics / Comm. Engineering
• 15+ years of software development experience and managing software projects (software development)
• 10+ years of experience in managing the team
• Managed a team size of 20-30 members.
• Strong experience in software development and agile software process.
• Track record of managing large, complex software projects with multiple stakeholders
• Effective Interface with customers to handle customer queries, concerns and change management requests
• Collaborate with distributed stakeholders including HARMAN vendors and internal groups. This includes occasional travel for training or coordination with other groups
• Problem solving, organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent written & verbal communication.
