The Global Category Manager will report into Suez WTS’ Category Management function, & will be responsible for developing, validating and implementing the global Procurement strategy for the category. In this role, the Global Category Manager will work with Procurement Project/Product Leaders, Regional Category Leader, Technology, and Supply Chain Leaders.
Specific responsibilities:

• Key Initiatives:
  • Defines a Global Category Strategy for assigned Categories that drives continuous improvement within the Category and benefits to the business
  • Develops/Manages Preferred Supplier Network, Strategic Suppliers – Expectation setting with suppliers w.r.t. Cost transparency, Index based pricing & securing spend via contracting.
  • Sole source mitigation is a key priority for this category – Supply market analysis to evaluate supply capability & fit. Present recommendations to internal stakeholders/management & secure buy-in.
  • Define Contracting Strategy and lead Supplier Negotiations
  • Drives Cash Improvements across assigned Categories
  • Create project pipeline for cost optimization projects
  • Supplier innovation – identify latest technology advancements, product substitutions in the industry that allow over all lowest TCO to the business
  • Forecast accuracy – Accountability for projecting Market impact for the category & delivering category contribution towards market mitigation & material deflation ideas. Closely manage execution timelines and category deliverables.
• Influence & Change Management:
  • Understand P&L business needs & collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver category value to the business.
  • Obtain agreement of the strategy from all business stakeholders and publishes it for all users to access
• Facilitative Leadership:
  • Reports to Leadership on Market Trends and Category Performance
  • Responsible to maintain ongoing dialog with the regional procurement teams, regional category managers, and project procurement leaders on key supplier issues
    

Who are we looking for? SUEZ Water Technologies & Solutions is seeking a thoughtful, dedicated professional with the right skillsets, mindset, and behaviour to contribute to the continued evolution of our Global Procurement function. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader, capable of developing and implementing innovative Procurement strategies, with a track record of delivering enterprise wide financial and non-financial results on sustainable basis in a matrix environment. Success in this role will require the ability to work in collaboration with a wide array of SUEZ internal stakeholders to identify, execute and monitor Procurement initiatives.
Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in Category/Supplier Management, Purchasing, Production Control, Engineering, Product or Project management
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the above category
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
