About the department Global Legal-Global Business Services (GL-GBS) at Bangalore was established in 2011 and assists Global Legal Organisation and Line of Business across International Operations, North America Operations and Headquarters. The unit is anchored under Global Legal Operations and is responsible to deliver various legal and project management services in the most standardised and centralised manner. The unit provides services like end to end contract management, trademark portfolio management, legal and compliance, project coordination, automation and digital services including system maintenance. The position As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for assisting the Novo Nordisk IT procurement and sourcing teams in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating cloud services and various other IT contracts that Novo Nordisk enters with its suppliers. You will be involved in reviewing contracts based on Novo Nordisk standard templates or reviewing contracts drafted on suppliers' template. You will also be expected to exercise independent judgment to resolve supplier changes through negotiation and to escalate issues appropriately. You will have direct contact to internal contract owners and supplier representatives, ensuring a smooth process flow and clear, effective communications by email and online meetings. At a high level, you will: Assist the IT sourcing teams and Line of Business (LoB) in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of IT contracts, including but not limited to, IT software and software as a service (SaaS), IT Consulting, project agreements Be the conduit between our business, our sourcing teams and IT service providers to ensure that business and contractual needs are clearly articulated in the contracts Identify IT related risks, both business and contractual, basis the nature of IT service being procured by Novo Nordisk and suggest alternatives that lead to the best solution Review contracts, either contracts prepared based on Novo Nordisk standard templates or contracts drafted on suppliers' templates Take responsibility of end-to-end process of contracting incl. assisting the business/sourcing teams from RfP through contract finalization and all future amendments Lead contract negotiations and respond to contractual queries Follow and suggest enhancements to Global Contract Templates and review guidelines/playbooks based on patterns observed while reviewing contracts Provide subject matter expertise to team members in GL-GBS on a variety of contracts such as Master Services Agreements, Consultancy Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements etc. Train and supervise GL-GBS team members Qualifications We are expecting you to hold the below skills and knowledge: Bachelor's or master's degreein Law Overall experience of 7-10 years in a legal/contract management function from an international company operating globally Strong understanding of IT business and contractual terms and conditions to independently draft, review, negotiate contracts. Experience on the buyer side and/or pharmaceutical business is an advantage. Familiarity of project methodology like agile, waterfall Fluent in English, written and spoken Strong communicator at all levels of the organisation Ability to motivate, instruct and coach employees Ability to prioritise projects and tasks, ensuring high quality and timely deliverables Strong stakeholder management skills Business ethics integrity Working at Novo Nordisk At Novo Nordisk, we have been changing diabetes since 1923.
