The Service Engineer (SE) Senior Consultant Level II leads efforts to research, design, plan and maintain new or existing hardware and software technology components. The SE Sr. Consultant utilizes systems, scripting and developer skills to execute on tasks related to analysis, integration, and moderately to highly complex incidents and problems affecting production systems and multiple applications.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the completion of the following activities (concerning new hardware and software technology components or enhancements to existing components): research, analysis, design, selection, planning, and engineering.
Lead complex, hardware and software technology component analysis, and evaluation of resource requirements necessary to maintain/expand service levels or tune hardware and software infrastructure components for optimum performance.
Resolve incidents and perform root cause analysis, escalating high complexity incidents and problems to provide future application, hardware and/or software resiliency.
Develop plans to meet required service levels; design data collection and reporting mechanisms for technology component health reporting.
Support Technician and Sr. Technician level Service Engineers in project management, planning and estimating, reporting, scheduling, and workflow; guide and mentor junior level Service Engineers in these processes.
Contribute to the development and update of the application environment configuration management plan as directed.
Primary Skills
Education College degree or equivalent work experience. Technical/Functional Skills
Hands-on system engineering, configuration management and support of web-hosting platforms; IBM HTTP Server and WebSphere Application Server (Base, Network Deployment and Liberty) on Linux RHEL 8.
Intermediate level code development using Python.
Intermediate level scripting using PowerShell and Bash. Groovy is a plus.
Familiarity with Ansible system engineering for hardware provisioning and enterprise configuration management.
Familiarity with RunDeck 3 for infrastructure monitoring and auto-reliability management.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment development tools; Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub, OctopusDeploy.
Working knowledge of ServiceNow IT Management Solution. Integration Hub is a plus.
Well versed in Office 365 tools; Sway, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Visio.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge on Windows Internet Information Services (Windows 2019 GUI & Core) will be added advantage
