Senior Mechanical Engineers Reporting and Working Relationships: a) Reports to the Mechanical Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS). b) Works in close coordination with other Mechanical Senior Engineers and Subject Matter Experts(SMEs) in other offices, nominated for project execution activities. c) Provides oversight and advise to the Designers on aspects related to Process Flow Diagrams andPiping and Instrumentation Diagrams. d) Have working relationship and coordination with all other disciplines and all other entities within theProject execution team to ensure cross-functional alignment. Essential Duties (Scope): This role will help in the development, review, and finalization of critical project deliverables like: a) Design Criteria b) Air flow diagram for duct systems c) HVAC Load calculations (for each Fab room(s), cleanroom(s), other room(s), and zones including airhandler zones) d) Humidification Load calculations e) Ventilation calculations f) Building envelope leakage calculations g) HVAC equipment sizing calculations using HVAC design software tools like TRACE 700 h) Preliminary indicative duct sizing calculations i) Duct routing layout and its coordination in 3D Model j) Data sheets k) Project specifications of equipment and/or components l) Service Requisition m) Technical Bid Evaluation n) System Descriptions o) Contract Package Scope Dictionaries p) Any other Study / Report required during project execution activities for HVAC packages inMechanical Engineering discipline. The person shall engage with a cross-discipline and cross-functional team of Senior Engineers, Engineers and Designers / 3D-Modelers, SMEs including Project Engineers, Owner representatives, Construction representatives and other stakeholders in other functions like Quality, ES&H, Procurement and Project Controls. The key objectives for this role are to: a) Originate, develop, mature and complete, on behalf of the Mechanical EGS, the deliverables (asexplained above) for HVAC package. b) Work with the Mechanical EGS to assist in providing technical inputs and HVAC packagerequirements for other commodity design and engineering activities, e.g. structural steel, concrete,piping, electrical equipment and instrumentation. c) Coordinate with Layout, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineers on the project to obtain and integraterespective interface inputs for equipment and package definition. d) Work with the Sub-contractors to review conformance to Owner requirements (like CFD and micro-contamination analyses for cleanrooms) in the design and development of the HVAC packageincluding review of other Sub-contractor data and information. e) Participate in training sessions related to use of new tools and applications. Basic Qualifications: a) 11 to 20 years of Project or functional experience in the EPC industry, especially related to Oil, Gasand Chemicals, or Mining and metals Business units, or in Power plants as part of Infrastructureprojects etc. b) Familiarity of common engineering, procurement and construction work processes, supply chain andother constructions methods and materials including usage of engineering applications to producedeliverables. c) Strong, proven experience within the Mechanical engineering discipline for design and engineeringpractices, equipment data definition, procurement, construction, handover processes and relatedactivities pertaining to HVAC packages, systems, and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to,direct/indirect exposure and detail engineering experience with the following types of equipment andcommodities: Ducting and duct supports Air Handling units Dampers Chillers and Chilled water plants Unit Heaters Grilles, Diffusers Cooling towers Coils Variable Air Volume systems d) Good understanding of the information lifecycle of project data - how information is exchangedbetween functions/disciplines and ownership of data transitions throughout the life of a projectincluding an understanding of Who the owner of trusted data is at any point in a project. e) Business understanding for data usage and consumption patterns. f) Good understanding of the link between work processes and tools/applications. g) Naturally curious and strong desire to solve problems. Innovative mind and willingness to learn andmaster new concepts, systems, processes, and tools. h) Intuitive ability to analyze and integrate data to solve analytical problems. i) Clear communication of complex methods in layman's terms. j) Ability to think out of the box with questioning attitude. k) Ability to interact and communicate effectively and precisely with other team members in otheroffices, including other discipline engineers and SMEs. Preferred Requirements: a) Good communication and presentation skills. b) Construction experience (job site experience) will be a plus. c) Having worked in more than one Function/Business unit will be a plus. d) Experience and/or understanding of Contracts and Procurement practices and methods. e) Design thinking and Innovative thought-process. f) Detail engineering experience with equipment sizing tools and applications. Grade 25 : experience level 11 -14 years Grade 26: Experience level 15 -20 years
