Summary:

Geotechnical Engineer with Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering preferably a Master\'s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from a reputed institute. Minimum 10 + years of experience of working on design and engineering of national/international Infrastructure/ Industrial Projects. Candidate should have exposure to Indian, US, Euro and other foreign codes/standards and practices. Proficiency in use of software such as LPILE, SHAFT, WALLUP, DYNAPILE, GRLWEAP, SLOPE, PLAXIS etc. is desirable. Experience in interpretation and analysis of geotechnical data & reports and coordination with Highway, Civil and Structural Engineers with Geotech recommendation is essential.

Essential Job Duties:

• Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals and develops site investigation programs, specifications, budget and schedules for projects of varying complexity
• Interprets ground investigation data and prepare geotechnical interpretative report.
• Selects foundation systems for infrastructure, Industrial and Highway structures and evaluates foundation bearing capacity and settlements for shallow/deep foundations
• Prepares/checks calculations to evaluate the major types of deep foundations, including driven piles, cast in-situ piles and drilled piers
• Evaluates lateral earth pressures, Embankment and slope stability analysis, retaining wall stability
• Perform analysis and design of temporary support for deep excavations
• Perform impact analysis on nearby structure due to deep excavation
• Assesses Ground improvement requirement and recommends mitigation measure for poor soil
• Interprets Site response studies, Soil-structure-interaction analysis and liquefaction evaluations
• Provides input to drawings for earthwork and foundation and has capability to write Geo-technical design reports independently
• Performs the duties of a resident geotechnical engineer on a project site and provides technical assistance.
• Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
• Reviews technical bids and makes recommendation.
• Reviews and checks work of junior team members. Provides input for their performance evaluation.
• Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Job Knowledge

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English language
• Experience in leading a team of engineers and CAD technicians.
• Possess a broad understanding of the major design engineering deliverables
• Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards, design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline, construction practices
• Broad knowledge of the application of geotechnical engineering to highway engineering. Understanding of Standard proctor test, modified proctor test or modified AASHTO test and interpretation of CBR test data.
• Understanding of different field compaction and field density measurement test
• Ability to support and understand the requirements of other disciplines like structures, civil works, hydrology and bridge designs, construction and the economics involved
• Understanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods
• Ability to work independently on large scale projects.
• Experience of coordination and high-quality presentations to clients, multimodal transport agencies, environmental agencies, land acquisition authorities.
• Knowledge of BIM packages such as Projectwise, Navisworks.

Qualification:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Master\'s degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in geotechnical design and overall, 12 years of experience.

Experience:

• Grade 27: 16+ years of experience
