Why we\'re hiring: As a Senior FinOps engineer, you will be part of the platform team who are responsible for building the FinOps platform services using DevOps tools on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This position will be ideal for an experienced DevOps engineer who has a keen interest in FinOps or a Software Engineer looking to move into DevOps. We are looking for someone who would like to use their skill set in a dynamic, technology-driven established start-up team culture. Your core goals as Senior FinOps Engineer:
- Working with engineering team to build DevOps pipelines.
- Building tools/ SDKs/ serverless applications to manage / integrate with 3rd party vendors.
- Liaising with the various teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Work with FinOps architect and Platform Lead to implement design and create re-usable artifacts to help increase efficiency of optimisation campaigns.
- Contribute to the documentation of FinOps operating model and any subsequent third-party onboarding / integration in the platform.
- Develop, build and operate workflows and integration with optimisation tools such as Cloudability
- 4+ years or experience in the DevOps area or experience as a Software Engineer
- Understanding of FinOps and its purpose within an organisation.
- Programming experience in Python.
- Understand Serverless development framework.
- Thorough knowledge of CI/CD tooling.
- Thorough knowledge of IaC tooling (Terraform).
- Passion for technology and desire to learn.
- Understanding of agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Understanding of cloud automation for standardisation and re-use.
- Public Cloud Certification. GCP is preferred.
- Prior experience in start-up / scale-up.
- Expertise with containerisation/virtualisation technologies (Kubernetes).
- Experience in implementing SRE Principles.
- Cloud Native Architecture experience, ideally in Google Cloud.
- Understanding of SDN (Software Defined Networking) on Google Cloud.
