The Technology Operational Excellence function has been set up to support the realisation of Maersk\'s strategic ambitions and to improve the stability, reliability & resilience of Maersk\'s critical services. Operational Insights is a key capability within this function. As a Senior Engineering Manager heading the Operational Insights team, you will be responsible for managing a culturally diverse team on a transformation journey. Key Responsibilities Take a lead role in shaping our data and analytics proposition to the platform teams, working to develop products and services for IT operational insights Help stakeholders to determine how to measure and analyse the effectiveness of their operations, through developing products to better understand IT operational performance Using your knowledge of open source technologies, convert and share complex information and insights in a simple and concise way Lead and mentor the team in driving innovation and uncovering actionable operational insights from federated sources of data Provide leadership to the team on Applied AI Recruit the right engineering talent and support their continued development through mentoring and coaching Set team objectives to support corporate strategies together with the measurable method to monitor and drive the outcome Foster a positive work environment and leading best practice and innovative techniques to always improve Required Experience Experience with databases and querying languages including SQL and BigQuery and BI tools such as Grafana, Tableau or Looker Experience in cross-team management, including Data Science, Analytics Engineering Creative in how you approach opportunities, and question the boundaries of what is possible Knowledge of product-led organisations, driving product-focused initiatives Understand the role of data in the world of IT Operations and use that understanding to accomplish positive outcomes Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and guide technical teams while considering big-picture strategic thinking Proven experience applying reporting techniques, analytics, data science, or operational research skills to tackle sophisticated business problems Demonstrate an interest in continuous improvement by keeping abreast of market developments, industry standards and innovations Ability to work with senior stakeholders to distil complex IT information into business aligned metrics System proficiency in data creation, modelling and reporting Proven ability to interact successfully with a variety of stakeholders and actively involved with the Scrum teams to achieve milestones and goals Values metrics and uses data driven decisions to improve and create innovative solutions to deliver goals Who Are We Looking For You are excited by data, believe in its power You are curious about how things get done & are capable of reimagining how a business objective can be achieved Bias to action and demonstrate end-to-end accountability for technology towards business and customer Ability to work in a high-performing business critical team and continually grow the culture and best practices Have an engineering mindset to achieving business outcomes and objectives Ability to seek different perspectives and relevant context to effectively navigate ambiguity Ability to foster an inclusive team culture that enables team members of all backgrounds to succeed and thrive Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to drive conversations across multiple teams to a conclusion Proactive and entrepreneurial to find solutions to problems Strong interest in developing and inspiring others
