Summary: Structural Engineer with Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputed Institute with more than 12 years of experience in estimation, engineering co-ordination, front end & detaileddesign of structures/ foundations for large industrial projects preferably related to Oil, Gas & Petrochemical plants.Candidate should have worked in an engineering office or consultancy of repute performing relevant work.Candidate should have exposure to Indian, US, Euro and other foreign codes/standards and local practices.Candidate should have exposure to 3D modeling and viewing tools such as S3D, Tekla, Naviswork, SPR. Candidate should be proficient in use of industry standard structural and Finite Element Analysis package such as STAAD Pro, SAP, etc.Candidate should have experience of connection design and exposure of managing steel modelling and detailing works. Essential Job Duties: Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals, design criteria, specifications, budget, and schedules for projects of varying complexity. Perform the finite element modeling and structural analysis of various steel structures. Reviews bid analyses and makes recommendation. Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders. Reviews and checks work of junior team members and provides input for their performance evaluation. Work closely with Fabrication and Engineering regarding material management/ procurement to ensure all drawings and Quantity take offs are correctly transferred to construction/modular yard. yard and Jobsite. Job Knowledge: Possesses a broad understanding of the major design engineering deliverables. Plans, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work. Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements. Performs work using Standard Application Programs and appropriate computer aided design and computer aided engineering (CAD and CAE) tools. Coordinates engineering effort in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, collaboration between Engineering, Fabricator, Modular yard and Jobsite for handling the steel changes / change management after steel fabrication complete, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups. Act as a liaison between shop, field, and detailers to resolve fabrication and erection difficulties. Ability to cross reference drawings (design drawings, erection, assembly, part drawings, steel modification package) and assimilate information from multiple drawings to ensure final information passed to construction. Understanding of code requirements, shop and construction process & procedures and ability to seek out missing information and organize detailing RFI's (Request for Information) process for missing / incorrect details. Understanding of the roles played by other disciplines like Plant Layout and Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Geotech and Construction etc. Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline. Experience in leading a team of steel modelers, connection engineers and detailers in large EPC projects. Capable of planning, assigning, guiding, and monitoring work of the team members Capable of assuring quality of design and associated deliverables Qualification: Minimum 4-year degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering. Preference will be given to the candidates with Master's degree in relevant subject. Must have led structural steel modelling and detailing works of at least two projects Experience: Grade 25: 12-15 years of relevant work experience Grade 26: 16-20 years of relevant work experience
