The successful candidate will join our multi-discipline and cross-national team supporting in the development of projects in renewables sector.

Essential duties & Responsibilities

• The individual performs the routine aspects of engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of engineering principles.
• Using prescribed methods, performs specific portions of engineering assignments.
• Compiles, verifies and correlates data relating to engineering problems.
• Assists in designs, studies, reports and preparation of process deliverables.
• Performs calculations, simulations and preliminary analyses.
• Uses computer programs as directed.
• Participates in preparation of material requisitions, specifications and other related documents.
• Coordinates assigned work with other technical personnel as directed.
• Assists in development and verification of project controls documents and status rep.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Knowledge of regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria pertinent to the energy efficiency discipline.
• Learning to be consultant and/or designer - Able to produce quality deliverables within scope, schedule and budget. Ability to work within scope, schedule and budget, and/or communicate issues on tasks owned is a core expectation of this level.
• Decisions: Few technical decisions called for and these will be of routine nature with ample precedent or clearly defined procedures and guidelines. Work requires accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed analysis, design or computational methods.
• Receives operational supervision and technical guidance from more senior engineers.
• May provide technical direction as appropriate to others who perform specific design support assignments.
• Work in immediate work group and interfaces with other disciplines as specifically directed.
• Able to follow through on commitments.
• Ability to articulate well in written communications evolving into technical writing proficiency
• Practices safe behaviors in the field and office settings.

Required:

• Experience in evaluating energy-related projects or programs to reduce energy costs.
• Experience in improving energy efficiency during design / building / remodelling phases.
• Energy assessments, analysis of energy data.
• Experience in energy modeling.
• Experience preparing draft reports detailing analytical findings.
• Assess and research existing site energy usage to identify areas of improvement.
• Support the creation and the preparation of technical presentations, reports, papers and other deliverables.
• Comply with industry standards for renewable energy sources.
• Conduct research and undertake analyses on a variety of topics in the energy sector such as energy sector markets, power sector reform, energy policy and regulation, utility improvement, energy finance, renewable energy and energy efficiency, climate resilience.
• Provide meeting support: prepare agendas, take and distribute meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
• Green buildings.
• Lighting, Air quality, heating, ventilation, HVAC systems.
• Energy procurement.
• Softwares: AutoCAD, Excel and Office Package.
• Background in energy and engineering.
• Availability for travelling.
• Languages needed: English.

Education and experience

• Degree in electrical or energy engineering;
• At least 8 years of experience.
