ABOUT THE ROLE ABOUT THE ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY SERVICES TEAM The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team is accountable for all Infrastructure, Security, IT Operations and all End User Services and technologies. This group will ensure that our IT Services are seamless and secure, and that technology is delivered in an efficient, effective, and agile way, with a strong focus on experience.

THIS IS WHAT YOULL DO The Device Solutions Engineer will assist with the design, development, implementation and support of AstraZeneca IT Infrastructure technology, focusing on the deployment and management of Microsoft Windows devices. Working under guidance of more senior employees, the role holder will be involved in analysing requirements, implementing components of solutions as well as supporting solution enhancements and maintenance, which may require a close collaboration with third party suppliers. The Device Solutions Engineer will adhere to the established AstraZeneca lifecycle methodology and practices. This may include maintaining program libraries and user documentation of individual components within solutions.
Develops technical expertise and shares knowledge as required with project teams working on the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of IT end user device solutions focusing on deployment and management of devices running Microsoft Windows and services delivered to the devices

Provides support in reviewing technical designs and ensuring consistency to the AZ Architecture Roadmap, Information Services Strategy and High Level Designs, as well as compliance and regulatory requirements and standards

Assists in the preparation of reasons, Request for Proposals, supplier selection and evaluation of proposals

Assists more senior employees in defining infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with the target benefits and value expected

Assists in the design, development, configuration and documentation of infrastructure components

Provides support with performance analysis and document solution components

Gathers and collates management reporting information on existing infrastructure solutions and services

Performs maintenance and support activities, routine analysis and evaluation on resource requirements necessary to maintain and/or expand service levels

Supports investigations of problems within existing solutions utilising ITIL V3.0 principles

Must demonstrate the capability to identify and propose innovative solutions to improve service performance

YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE Education, Qualifications, and Experience
Essential Higher education with demonstrated capability to perform in a complex IT environment

Experience with use of Microsoft M365 services for the secure deployment and management of end user devices

Prior experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with good eye for business

Experience of dealing with 3rd party suppliers

Experience of working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures and guidelines

Evidence of designing, testing and maintaining solutions

Experience of sharing knowledge/ information and implementing any changes

Well versed in ITIL V3.0 practices and process

Evidence of designing, shaping and implementing innovative infrastructure solutions and driving any changes

Relevant qualifications in Enterprise Management, Monitoring and Security Tooling

Desirable Degree level education in computer science or similar

Good commercial awareness and understanding of the external market

Skills and Capabilities Essential
Good communication skills supporting joint working with geographically remote colleagues
Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language and in alignment with AZ business

Some track record of designing, engineering and implementing Observability platforms, demonstrating Enterprise Management, Monitoring & Security Tooling

Some industry experience and ability to interact effectively and lead technology roadmaps with 3rd parties

Desirable Demonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working
