?? Core Desktop Engineering Responsibilities

  • Windows OS Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016 environments.
  • Office 365 Administration: Support and troubleshoot Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office apps; manage user accounts and licenses.
  • Citrix VDI Support: Maintain and troubleshoot Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, including thin-client configurations and session performance.
  • Endpoint Management: Use Microsoft Intune and MDM solutions to manage and secure desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Device Management Systems (DMS): Administer and support DMS platforms for hardware/software inventory and lifecycle management.
?? Hardware & Peripheral Support
  • Desktop, Laptop, Thin-Client Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve
hardware issues across various device types.
  • Printer Support: Troubleshoot network and local printer issues, including
driver installations and connectivity problems.
?? Security & Monitoring
  • Antivirus Management: Deploy and monitor antivirus solutions; ensure endpoint protection is up-to-date.
  • Gateway Security Monitoring: Monitor and respond to alerts from gateway security systems (e.g., firewalls, web filters).
  • Network Security Monitoring: Collaborate with network teams to monitor and secure desktop endpoints from threats and vulnerabilities.
?? Software Deployment & Maintenance
  • Application Support: Install, configure, and troubleshoot business-critical applications including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Patch Management: Ensure timely deployment of OS and application patches using tools like WSUS or SCCM.
  • Software Packaging: Create and deploy software packages for automated installation across the enterprise.
?? Operational & Strategic Duties
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • User Support & Training: Provide Tier 1/2 support and training to end-users on desktop systems and applications.
  • Project Leadership: Lead desktop-related projects such as OS upgrades, hardware refreshes, and security enhancements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with network, server, and security teams to ensure cohesive IT operations.

  • Asset Management: Track and manage IT hardware and software inventory.
  • Incident Reporting: Analyze support trends and generate reports to improve service delivery.
  • User Training: Provide training and documentation to end-users for common desktop tasks and best practices.
