Senior Database Administrator

Jones Lang LaSalle, an international commercial real estate firm, is seeking for a Senior Database Administrator. This role will be responsible for all admin activities for SQL server infrastructure , both on-premise as well as cloud. This person must have 10 + years of recent experience with SQL server Database offerings and all the modern database technologies in general along with understanding of Azure cloud Platforms. This person must be very passionate in Data and Data Services. This person will work with and interface with multiple teams with their Data needs and requirements. This person will need to think out of the box and looks for ways to improve the environment in cloud.

Responsibilities

• Manage SQL Server databases (2008 to 2019)
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes
• Perform DB patching and upgrade as needed
• Participate in DR and audit activities

• Monitor system\'s health and performance
• Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security
• Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time
• Provide suggestions for solutions
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes

• Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
• Provide end-user support
• Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours

Experience & Education

• Masters/Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Information & Computer Science, Statistics or a quantitative discipline in science.
• 8+ years of database administration experience.
• 6+ years of deep technical experience in database environments specializing in SQL Server
• 6+ years of database administration production support
• 6+ years of experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
• 6+ years of experience with backups restore, and recovery models
• 6+ years of experience in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
• 6+ years of experience with Windows servers, including Active Directory

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in SQL Server 2012-2019 (expert)
• Experience with SQL Server replication (transactional, snapshot, SQL, and Oracle target).
• Proficient in installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching all RDBMS listed above and in OLTP and OLAP performance troubleshooting.
• Support all areas of the enterprise, ensuring all databases run at optimal performance.
• Ensure that industry-wide security standards are properly implemented.
• Develop and optimize complex T-SQL and PL/SQL code.
• Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company\xe2\x80\x99s success
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills

• Good time-management skills.
• Great interpersonal and communication.
