Role Profile Role title: JD - Lead Architect - Service Delivery Colt Level: S1 - Core/Adv Function: Strategy & Architecture Location: India Role purpose As a Lead Architect for Service Delivery you will proactively drive Colt Service Delivery, Order Management and Service Fulfilment business benefits through transformation and optimization initiatives. You will work closely with key business stakeholders, end users, project managers and developers, taking overall architectural and design responsibility for multi-million euro strategic transformation initiatives. You will have architecture and design responsibility for a portfolio of proejcts, directly producing designs where applicable and coaching / mentioning other Solutions Architects working within the domain. You will stay abrest of new and emerging technologies and 3rd party software packages to to help business leaders monetize and operationalize the most approrpaite technologies. You will work with the principle architect and business stakeholders to formulate IT investment roadmaps for the Service Delivery domain. You will engage with other lead architects and solution architects for knowledge sharing and industry insights. You will contribute to the maturing of the enterprise architecture practice into a centre of excellence. Key accountabilities Support principal architect formulate IT strategy for the assigned initiatives by facilitating business and IT alignment through a collaborative, supportive and consultative manner. Support principal architect to recommend technology investment decisions based on various disruptive forces and the business's economic & financial levers that affect transformation. Drive the agreed actions with senior business leaders to help the organization with targeted business outcomes Support principal architect with necessary perspective on the readiness of the organization to change and innovate for the assigned initiatives Provides standard definitions, reference models and architecture designs to help the architecture review board (ARB) assess the impact of new and ongoing technology investment on the business and IT estate. Analyse the business-IT environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, legacy and technical debt, and recommends solutions for improvement to formulate part of the strategy Drive Innovation Scans for major disruptive technology and nontechnology trends (trendspotting) that affect assigned initiatives. Analyse the technology industry, competitors and market trends, and determines their potential impact on the enterprise. Identifies technology-enabled innovation opportunities that enables business strategy and deliver expected business outcomes. Drive opportunities that business agreed to invest in to enable desired business capabilities Manage and drive the IT Portfolio Works closely with the (PMO) project management office to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with the promised outcomes throughout the project or product lifecycle. Provide guidance, advice and oversight to various in-flight and planned projects to enable them to achieve desired business outcome Contribute to IT investment roadmaps that reflect the status of the existing IT estate, namely, its ability to contribute to future-state business capabilities around technological platforms for assigned initiatives Leads focused analysis of the IT environment related to assigned initiatives and supporting business applications to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions. Analyse and define an implementation plan for the enterprise architecture based on business requirements and the varying IT strategies for project-driven or product-driven delivery teams. Lead and conduct RFPs for major areas of agreed IT change that are required to achieve required business objectives Collaborates with infrastructure, security, data and business process teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture for the assigned initiatives Supports product managers in EOL (end of life) product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire products, services or systems (including applications, technologies, processes and information). Orchestrate the Delivery of Business Outcomes for assigned initiatives for identified business initiatives that the organisation has chosen to invest in to drive targeted business outcomes Leads analysis of the business' future-state capabilities and future vs current IT environment for capabilities organisation has chosen to invest in and recommend solutions for improvement to drive the business forward. Provide guidance, advice and oversight to the project and product governance for initiatives assigned Accountable for documentation of all architecture design and analysis work for assigned initiatives Provide support and guidance to solution architects and application architects navigate through solution designs that will meet desired business outcomes Defines the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision. Custodian of architectural governance and standard relevant to the assigned initiatives Creates reference architectures focused on detailed integrations, major systems and dependencies between business and IT for the major business initiatives assigned. Creates architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution development across products, services, projects and systems (including applications, technologies, processes and information). Contributes to the maturing of the enterprise architecture practice into a centre of excellence. Build and Maintain Relationships Leads and facilitates interaction with business leaders, product managers and product owners in a business-driven conversation over the risks and implications of product decisions for the assigned initiatives Role specific requirements Values Experience Skills Competencies Lives the Colt's values and behaviours, provides the required leadership and drives the culture change. Master's or bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience. Ten or more years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis. Ten or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multitier environment. Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps Certifications desired - TOGAF, Certified Architect (CA), Zachmann, SAFE agile At least Five years experience of service delivery / fulfilment solutions for B2B telecommunications services gained either from a Systems Integrator, Telecoms Operator or Cloud provider. Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics. Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks. Exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation. Excellent analytical and technical skills. Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Knowledge of all components of holistic enterprise architecture. Familiarity with basic graphical modelling approaches, tools and model repositories. Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management. Understanding of different agile methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level. Understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and processing environments. Organizationally savvy and understanding of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and politics. Balance the long-term ('big picture') and short-term implications of individual decisions and organization goals. Estimate the financial impact of EA alternatives. Rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies. Ready to think, behave and act in an innovative consulting manner to drive the organization's business strategies. Understand and speak the language of the business. Understanding of B2B Data products (Ethernet, IP, SD-WAN, Security) Understanding of telecom service delivery/fulfilment processes Understanding of Service and Resoruce Modeling for telecommunication networks. Understanding of TMF ODA architecture, data model and TMF interfaces. Highly innovative with aptitude for foresight, systems thinking and design thinking. Vendor- and technology-neutral - focused in achieving targeted business outcomes rather than promotion of technological preferences. Practical in approach to problem solving and decision making.
