JOB DESCRIPTION Description for Internal Candidates: The Senior Certification Engineer will ensure compliance with international standards and regulations for products in industries such as oil and gas, mining, industrial process, power, and petrochemical. They will analyze certifications, develop plans for new certifications or renewals, and review product designs to meet hazardous area and pressure equipment standards. The engineer will provide guidance to design engineers, optimize products for certification requirements, and coordinate with certification bodies and labs. They will assess compliance gaps, co-work with the design team to fix issues, and maintain the certification register. Additionally, they will stay updated on relevant regulations and conduct regular trainings for engineering teams and relevant departments on the latest requirements and best practices. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering, along with 7+ years of experience in the certification domain. They should have working knowledge of hazardous location standards like IEC 60079 series and pressure vessel standards such as PED and ASME. Experience working with certification agencies like UL, CSA, Intertek, TUV, etc., is required. The candidate should be self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision, and have project management skills to handle certification projects, timelines, and budget. A willingness to learn and adapt in a global environment is crucial. Preferred qualifications include working knowledge of EMI/EMC testing, SIL assessment and certification, CE/UKCA marking, and experience with REACH/RoHS regulations. Job Responsibilities: Ensure product complies to international standards and specifications related safety, regulatory, pressure equipment and hazardous areas Analyze current state of certifications and develop a plan for new certification or renewal strategically based on cost, optimizing processes, improving efficiency, and accelerate certification timelines. Review product designs and guide team towards meeting certification standards applicable to hazardous area certification such as UL, CSA, IEC, ATEX, etc., and pressure equipment directives such PED, ASME, etc., Provide key inputs to optimize product from certification and test requirements Review requirements of various region specific certifications such as PESO, CCC, etc., and provide guidance to design engineers. Co-ordinate with local and international labs and certification bodies to get the products certified. Assess the drawings, manuals, descriptive reports to ensure the compliance with the standards. Prepare technical files, assessment report, construction review, test plan, sample requirement and execute the tests through internal as well as external certification body test labs. Identify the compliance gaps and co-work with design team to fix. Guide internal & external customers regarding the matters of local regulatory, pressure equipment and hazardous location product safety certifications. Participate in Engineering changes, conducting the analysis of modifications affecting the certification of those products under change. Maintain certification register, manage renewals and work with marketing team to plan for new certifications. Stay informed about any updates and changes in relevant regulations, standards, or certification requirements. Conduct regular trainings for engineering team, QA and relevant departments on the latest regulatory requirements, standards, and best practices.
