DESCRIPTION Amazon seeks a Senior Business Analyst for its Finance Operations M&A Subsidiary Risk and Compliance team to play a critical role in building a program focused on promoting Amazon\'s acquired subsidiaries\' controllership and operational health. The Senior Business Analyst will support M&A integration managers by performing deep dive review of unsupported and partially supported subsidiary processes and internal controls. This role was created to provide a dedicated focus on executing core controllership policies and procedures in support of the M&A Subsidiary Risk and Compliance team\'s vision. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to gather and interpret data, build mechanisms and procedures to communicate timely program updates to our stakeholders based on data gathered, ability to analyze data and develop strategies/proposals to improve internal control processes. Key job responsibilities The Senior Business Analyst will dive into the subsidiary data collected to understand the issues, identify opportunities to leverage existing subsidiary operations to meet controllership requirements through minor changes or additions, and assist subsidiary with implementation. If substantial modifications to existing processes are required, the senior business analyst will work closely with the subsidiary to draft business requirements, process flows, and other documentation to support integration and/or lift and shift projects. This role will perform assessment of new acquisitions and recommend interim and long-term solutions as well as contribute to the development of new or improved mechanisms for monitoring subsidiary compliance with applicable controllership policies, processes, and controls. This role will work with cross-functional teams and Amazon\'s subsidiaries. The ideal candidate has project management skills, excellent communication skills, the ability to earn trust in order to influence others, experience gathering and interpreting data, and the ability to collaborate across functions. Must have flexibility to work with global stakeholders in multiple time zones. About the team The Finance Operations organization works with every part of Amazon providing the backbone systems and operational processes which enable Amazon to pay suppliers, invoice customers and report financial results. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Hyderabad, TS, IND BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience - 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience - 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience - 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience - 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience - 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - Bachelor\'s degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor\'s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience - Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel - Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience - 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience - MBA, or CPA - Knowledge of SQL/ETL - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
