Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We\xe2\x80\x99re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

Introduction:

The individual will actively contribute to various projects spanning across critical data strategy deliveries, regulatory projects and platform enhancements requested by the product owner or business users. With a heavy emphasis on supporting Climate Data Strategy, Effective governance - Board and Senior Management Oversight, Data quality control framework, Internal Audit review and Tactical analyses versus strategic solutions. Ensuring requirement, functional specifications, and unit testing requirements are well understood and participate in all aspects of analysis, design, implementation and deployment of all software related to these applications.

What will you be doing?

• Assist Barclays Climate Data Strategy stakeholders (Business, Model Owners, Quants, Finance, Reporting and technology) in order to build a catalogue of internal/external authoritative data sources across the group/regions to be leveraged for new climate data demand
• Develop a set of guiding principles and responsibilities when on boarding new data vendors or off boarding existing vendors
• Coordinate data sourcing and aggregation used as part of model inputs across all business areas
• Assist in the development of a Climate data controls and operating model
• Assist in developing a data governance and attestation framework for the Climate change program
• Assist in the development of robust internal controls including policies and procedures; change control; and review by internal audit
• Coordinate with chief data office to establish climate data domains, capture critical data elements and lineage.
• Assist in the development of the business architecture required to support the Climate change
• Assist with stakeholders management & reporting development

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical, science, engineering, or mathematical discipline (preferred but not essential)
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in investment banking or the financial sector and data analytics
• Experience in development of robust internal controls including policies and procedures; change control; and review by internal audit
• Worked on Management reporting and dashboards for medium to complex projects.
• Experience working with global teams/stakeholders along with Audit & Financial Reporting knowledge.
• Excellent skills in Data modelling and Data Governance

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Thorough understanding of a SDLC, realizing the importance of working on Agile environment and autonomous enough to adjust as priorities change.
• Experience in understanding enterprise wide data platform and front to back data strategy
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments concurrently with minimal direction in a dynamic work environment
• Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Development and agile tools e.g. SQL, Excel, JIRA, Git, MS office, Project Plan, Visio and Agile Central.
• Map and trace data from various source systems to solve a given business problem
• Strong team player, willing to work on own initiative yet able to communicate well and integrate with a diverse team
