The Organization: Marketing Operations

The Marketing Operations (MO) team is an operational arm of Chegg Marketing and is critical to its success. The team is involved in acquiring customers through multiple marketing channels like organic search, paid search, email, social, affiliate, and display. Going beyond customer acquisition, MO participates in analyzing students' behavioral trends to enable better business outcomes. The team also monitors and assesses the industry landscape to generate actionable insights.

Overview of the Role:

Ownership and execution of the Search Engine Optimization responsibilities of Chegg and subsidiaries. Bring on SEO solution expertise in projects for effective delivery of broad milestones as well as micro level tasks in projects to achieve the campaign KPIs and business goals for Chegg.

The ideal candidate should be excited to join our team's mission to aid in the strategic growth of Chegg by building the capability of developing processes that increase capacity by making ongoing marketing activities more efficient, scalable, & predictable.

Responsibilities:

• Set and execute strategies to improve the organic rankings and search traffic
• On-page optimization related to technical SEO, meta-title, URLs, redirects, internal link structures, sitemaps review/maintenance
• Content optimization by identifying gaps and underperforming pages, look for opportunities of implementing structure data & internal linking
• Keyword research to identify and discover new keywords and explore content strategy
• Experience with varied Link building methods especially Guest blogging (Ethical, highly relevant link acquisition that adheres to Google's quality guidelines)
• Competitive analysis and identifying strategies to facilitate Chegg in reaching the top of its industry
• Provide competitive on-page, content, and technical website analysis.
• Understand and implement the on-page, schema strategies for growth
• Reporting on SEO performance and optimization efforts on an ongoing and ad-hoc basis
• Proficient with tools such as SemRush, Ahrefs, Moz Search Console, etc.
• Understanding of programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JS (Basic)
• Experimenting with new SEO strategies

Required Candidate profile

• Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in On-page Optimization & Technical SEO [experience in a process driven environment preferred]
• Tools and platforms:

• Keyword Planner, Screaming Frog, Moz, Majestic SEO, Ahref, GWT, SEMrush, Jira, Confluence, Excel [Knowledge of Screaming Frog, Ahref, SEMrush is must]
• Working knowledge of SEO; with the focus on technical implementation & On-page optimization
• Good in link building and link audit
• Understanding of Google Search Algorithm
• Knowledge of keyword research & competitor analysis
• He/she should be agile in responding to time sensitive deliverables
• Proficiency in MS tools (excel, word and PowerPoint)
• Communication: Excellent speaking and writing capabilities [preferably US English]
• Qualification: UG or PG in any stream
