About the Role
Wells Fargo Card and Merchant Services (CMS) team supports our direct-to-consumer lending products which include consumer credit cards, private label cards, store financing and loyalty programs. Key areas of business include product management, strategy and innovation, loan operations, inbound/outbound sales, and project and systems management.

Analytics and decision sciences team provides analysis, reporting and insights to help business decisions in various parts of the business which includes customer acquisition, portfolio management, co-branded card partnerships, rewards management, digital payments, and retail merchant management and customer experience.

In this role, you will

  • Perform analysis and create insights to help the credit card product owners, rewards and loyalty team to increase product engagement and generate revenues
  • Develop business segmentation, customer profiling, benchmarking , forecasting, perform vintage analysis , ROI analysis and create strategies around credit card rewards program
  • Support the business to understand reward spend behavior, activity rate and rewards earn rate using insightful analytic
  • Advise Rewards line of business on strategies based on performance metrics, trends in population distributions, predictive scenario modeling, and other complex data to maximize profits and increase loyalty
  • Create strategies around customized reward strategy using past spend & balance behavior
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and legal regulations and policies on all projects managed
  • Work on thought leadership analytical ideas to drive the cards business from acquisition to retention
  • Lead projects and mentor or manage less experienced staff, interns, and external contractors
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and more experienced managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Essential Qualifications/ Skill requirement
  • BS/BTech degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, economics, computers , physics
  • Minimum of 4+ years hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting and modeling
  • Strong analytical, technical and statistical skills, high conceptual problem-solving, high level of comfort in dealing with unstructured, 'white space' problems
  • Demonstrated experience with techniques, programming, and tools relevant to statistical modeling and analysis including a high level of proficiency with large databases/data warehouse (Oracle, Teradata) and tools such as SAS / SQ
  • Experience in working on statistical techniques like segmentation, regression, Decision trees, forecasting
  • Intellectually curious/ quick thinker and a thought leader
  • Good data interpretation , presentation skills and communication skills
  • A true team player and collaborator, translating prior knowledge and experience into strong and productive relationships internally and externally
  • Dedicated, enthusiastic, driven and performance-oriented and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously
Desired Skills
  • Languages: SQL, SAS
  • BI Tools: Tableau/ Power BI/ SSRS & Excel
  • Deep knowledge of building strategic analysis using vintage analysis , customer profiling , business segmentation
  • Basic knowledge of statistical techniques like - Regression , Clustering, CHAID, Time series Forecasting
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in working on Machine learning techniques - segmentation, regression, Decision trees, forecasting
  • Knowledge of Python
  • Financial services experience (Credit card knowledge is a plus)
