We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Analyst / Manager - Decision Sciences, GSC\xe2\x80\x99s

  • Today, the GAC team generates value across the group through a wide variety of data and analytic solutions and related business consulting. GAC has become a one-stop shop for the group\xe2\x80\x99s analytic needs leading the integration of analytics and data-driven decisions not only in traditional areas such as Risk, Retail, Wholesale, Private & Commercial Banking but also in new domains such as Regulatory, Operations, Procurement, Human Resources, and Financial Crime Risk. It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development & implementation, Business Intelligence, reporting and data management
Global Business/Global Function \xe2\x80\x93 Global Risk Analytics:

The Global Risk Analytics (GRA) Function is accountable for Model Risk to the Group. GRA is a quantitative analytics function spanning across Wholesale risk, Market risk, Operational Risk, Regulatory and Financial Crime Compliance risk. Given this is a high risk environment in the financial services industry, with the impact from regulators, customers, shareholders and the media is at an exceptional level, meaning that compliance with the letter and spirit of regulation globally has never been more important. The GRA India team is an arm of the Group GRA Team supporting the latter with its overall commitments to global businesses and to the regulators.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

Decision Sciences job family is structured to address business problems with quantitative solutions like building of predictive algorithms / forecasting / scenario simulations etc. Members of this Job Family are differentiated by their capability of converting a business problem into a quantitative construct, solve it with available statistical / mathematical methods (following the right rigour), engage with IT to implement and finally interpret the model outcomes in business language. The range of business problems may cover areas of business growth, improving customer experience, limiting risk exposure, capital quantification, enhancing internal business processes etc. They are required to, as necessary, embed agile & exploratory practices into their approach, justify the choice of appropriate methods to various internal and external reviewers. This talent group is expected to keep themselves apprised of latest developments and industry practices around emerging methodologies, techniques etc. and bring those in-house by applying them for better outcomes. A decision sciences job family member should be able to: -
  • Partner with functional business leaders in owning & developing analytics applications for higher business value
  • Translate key analytical solutions as generic and re-deployable across regions / markets
  • Design, architect and manage analytics processes and infrastructure and define initiatives with senior management
  • Can see the \'bigger picture\' and assess relationship between recommended solutions and business performance
  • Champions changes by partnering with Global / Regional leaders and establish analytics driven business model
  • Own delivery of high quality analytics solutions for the business stakeholders across geographies
  • Lead a cross functional team, in an Agile working environment for rapid prototyping, developing and implementing analytics led applications / services
  • We are seeking Credit Risk Model developer to work on building, maintaining and enhancing regulatory models in IFRS9 and Stress Testing Analytics in Wholesale Credit Risk space. Also the credit model developer will be responsible for liaising with business partners.
Key accountabilities for the role are listed below.
  • Help in designing, implementing & enhancing the various Group frameworks through GAC team, related to IFRS9 and help in deployment.
  • Manage activities out of GAC supporting Group and the regional GRA priorities into IFRS9 across all regions. Manage direct engagement with key regions by delivering the required regulatory models for regions like HBAP, HBEU, MENAT etc.
  • Support project pipeline from GAC within IFRS9 and Stress Testing and provide best in class solutions to Group & key regions on the above analytical problems.
  • Innovate, drive standardization and functionally contribute with hands-on work by delivering various Wholesale analytics Global Redeployable solutions out of GAC.
Customers/Stakeholders:

It involves liaising with multiple stakeholders in Group and across Regions in GRA space covering:-
  • Lead of GAC GRA Global wholesale Model Development
  • Head of Group Wholesale analytics \xe2\x80\x93 GRA
  • Regional GRA stakeholders for Wholesale
  • Model sponsor
  • Model end users
  • Update above stakeholders through strategic communication on resource planning & key projects progress. Highlight and escalate challenges on time and suggest solutions to mitigate issues.
  • Showcase & highlight the GAC capability to stakeholders, uplift team profile and bring in more quality of work whereby delivering key GRA objectives
Leadership & Teamwork:
  • Maintain strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders including Group and regions depending on the priority.
  • Contribute to GAC wide engagement / operational initiative & showcase leadership beyond boundaries.
  • Provide appropriate functional training to team and larger GRA
Management of Risk/Internal Controls/Compliance:
  • The jobholder will continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.
  • The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.
  • The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term \xe2\x80\x98compliance\xe2\x80\x99 embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.
  • This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:
  • 2+ years of professional experience in Financial services & Credit risk model development (PD, EAD, LGD)
  • Relevant analytics experience in banking domain / IFRS9 risk analytics/ Stress testing
  • Understanding of commercial banking and wholesale related products would be advantageous
  • Excellent documentation, presentation and communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 written and verbal. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas
  • Good exposure to credit model methodologies data requirement for AIRB and IFRS 9 modelling would be a plus
  • Knowledge of AIRB/IFRS9 PD, LGD or EAD model development would be a plus
  • Strong database and credit risk systems experience
  • Coding skills in SAS, Python, SQL etc. would be essential
  • Good understanding and interpretation of regulatory rules
  • Ability to work as part of a team with key customers and stakeholders
  • Knowledge and exposure to cloud analytics platform such as AWS, GCP, Azure etc. would be a plus but not mandatory
  • Strong business acumen with out-of-the box thinking to drive improved business performance
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and seamless delivery of analytics initiatives across markets
  • Certifications like FRM or CQF will be plus
Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop IFRS9&ST PD, LGD & EAD models as a part of project PRISM
  • Credit risk model and methodology development in IFRS and Stress Testing space within GRA team
  • Follow the global model standards when supporting model development, validation and monitoring.
  • Developing a good understanding of risk data flows from customer and product systems through to the finance and regulatory reporting systems
  • Translating and presenting technical work into more acceptable form in order to get the stakeholders\' buy-in
What additional skills will be good to have?
  • Prior knowledge of Credit Risk modelling would be a plus
  • Promote collaboration with Group and Regional teams to achieve business objectives
  • Support training and participate in technical workshops
  • Engage with team leads, senior management, project owners and project sponsors as well as model reviewers and approvers
