security officer's primary role is to protect people and property by maintaining a safe and secure environment through actions like patrolling, monitoring surveillance equipment, and controlling access to premises. They are the first responders in emergencies, coordinate with law enforcement, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Their duties also include creating detailed incident reports and, in some cases, training and supervising other staff.
Key responsibilities

• Patrolling and monitoring: Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols to deter crime and monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems for any signs of trouble.
• Access control: Control and monitor who enters and exits a property, verify identities, and secure all entry points.
• Emergency response: Act as the first responder during emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, or security breaches, and coordinate with external services like police and fire departments.
• Incident reporting: Document all activities, incidents, and observations in detailed reports, which can include property damage, theft, or unauthorized access.
• Enforcing rules: Ensure that company policies and safety regulations are followed and intervene in conflicts, using de-escalation techniques when necessary.

• Safety inspections: Conduct safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure that emergency equipment is functioning correctly. They also participate in safety drills.
