Senior Analyst \xe2\x80\x93 Valuation, Modelling and Economics (VME) As part of our EY- VME team, you will help clients understand the value of their business, securities, intellectual property, capital equipment, intangibles, and other assets. The group comprises several key areas, including business valuation, business modelling, capital equipment, complex securities, and economics advisory.
The opportunity We are looking for Senior Analysts with expertise in Financial Modelling / Quantitative Finance / Economics and to join EY-VME Team. Specifically, you will be a part of the team that helps clients to build sophisticated financial / operational models for c-suite level decisioning, value a variety of esoteric financial instruments for financial / tax reporting purpose and develop economic impact models for our private as well as public sector clients.
Your key responsibilities

• Perform valuations using latest techniques in the field of quantitative finance, build sophisticated financial models to help with management planning, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), tax and financial / tax reporting.
• Identify issues and propose strategies related to the procedures executed
• Contribute to report generation and detailed financial modelling
• Maintain positive, productive and professional relationships with client personnel and colleagues
• Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to the client\'s business
• Foster an efficient, innovative and team-oriented work environment
• Demonstrate teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members
• Develop/maintain productive working relationships with EY offices globally
• Direct the progress of engagement work, inform supervisors of the engagement status and manage staff performance
• Continually acquire and develop knowledge for own and team\xe2\x80\x99s learning. Use technology to learn, share knowledge with team members and enhance service delivery

Skills and attributes for success

• Excellent thoughtfulness, project management, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
• Hands-on / project experience in reviewing/building complex financial models based in MS Excel/VBA
• Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary
• Exposure to databases such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, etc.
• Experience in building tools to process data using technologies like R/Python in the corporate finance modelling space will be an added advantage

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A post graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting (CA) or Business with 2-3 years of related work experience is preferred. Alternatively, candidates who demonstrate the enthusiasm to apply the principles of corporate finance and math to solve real world problems will be considered also.
• Exposure to corporate finance concepts
• Experience in financial modelling including experience building models from scratch in MS Excel and related software preferred
• Any project experience in in utilizing valuation techniques and methodologies to value businesses, option pricing theory, use of data science to solve corporate finance problems will be given preference.
• Enrolled for courses like Securities Analysis and Portfolio Management, Microeconomics, Financial Engineering, Econometrics
• Experience in financial modelling including experience building models from scratch in MS Excel and related software preferred
• Achievement of or progress towards a CFA, FRM, ASA, CPA, PRM, PMP designation will be an added advantage

Ideally, you\xe2\x80\x99ll also have

• Project management skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
