You will be working as Sales Support Specialist - Configuration role reporting to Quotation Hub Manager and will be part of Motion - NEMA Motors division Business Area based in Bangalore, India. Create and complete bids/estimations/quotations / technical advice and specific calculations based on customer specification and / or customer requirements/budget in order to achieve both market competitiveness and high margin for the Company. Maintain and improve the balance between all ABB units and customers that are present in the area of responsibility.

Your responsibilities

  • Formulates competitive bids/estimates/quotations, taking into account best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation. Offers technical advice and provides comment on enquiry specifications for customers/channels/Sales Engineers with regards to ABB products/systems/ applications. Supports the local Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions. Ensures quotes are well documented in a timely manner and with appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.
  • Manages the preparation of offer including all technical documentation (e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product type), prices and trading conditions. Performs analytic and diagnostic studies to determine most suitable technical solution to meet customer needs.
  • In accordance with bid/estimate/quotation planning, ensures that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures.
  • Manages external services to support bid/estimation preparation.
  • Prepares commercial and technical quote documentation. Collects and archives documentation regarding the offer and records assumptions. Regularly reports the status of the bids/estimates/quotations using defined tools and collects and analyses the reasons for quotes being lost and won.
  • Identifies potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers/channels.
  • Responsible for collecting and collating all information needed to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements. Shares own technical/scientific knowledge and supports colleagues in applying specialist processes and tools to ensure timely and qualitative results.
  • Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships (LSU) to understand customer needs. Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process. Understands what creates customer value in own tasks and works to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction in accordance with incoming requests.
  • Contact with End Customer according LSU needs.

Your background

  • At least 2-3 years' experience as electrical engineer and either worked in quotation support or motor experience.
  • Deep analytical acumen and strong quantitative analytical skills.
  • Fluent communication in English, additional language as an advantage.
  • Electrical Engineering background with the capability to follow electrical calculations.
  • Knowledge of ABB products and technologies.
  • Knowledge connected to motors (if not quotation experience needed).
