Job Description

Role Summary
The Sales Head will own revenue growth, sales strategy, and team building for a fast-growing wealth management startup. This role is responsible for acquiring HNI/UHNI clients, building scalable sales processes, and driving consistent AUM and fee-based revenue.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue & Growth

  • Own sales targets (AUM, revenue, client acquisition)
  • Build and execute go-to-market strategy
  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance
  • Identify new revenue streams (advisory fees, PMS, AIFs, insurance, alternatives)
2. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
  • Acquire HNI / UHNI / Family Office clients
  • Personally manage top 10-20 key clients
  • Ensure high client satisfaction, retention, and referrals
  • Work closely with investment/advisory teams to deliver solutions
3. Sales Team Building & Leadership
  • Hire, train, and mentor Relationship Managers (RMs)
  • Define incentive structures and performance KPIs
  • Build a high-performance, ethical sales culture
  • Coach team on consultative and advisory selling
4. Sales Process & Strategy
  • Design scalable sales funnels and workflows
  • Implement CRM and reporting dashboards
  • Define pitch decks, scripts, and client onboarding flows
  • Optimize conversion rates from leads to clients
5. Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure all sales practices comply with SEBI / AMFI / IRDA regulations
  • Maintain ethical selling and transparent disclosures
  • Coordinate with compliance and operations teams

  • AUM growth

  • Number of new HNI clients

  • Sales team productivity
  • Lead-to-client conversion rate
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
  • 15 years + in Wealth Management / Private Banking / PMS / MFD
  • Prior experience leading a sales team
  • Experience in startup or growth-stage firm preferred
Skills
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Deep understanding of:
  • Mutual Funds
  • PMS / AIFs
  • Equity & debt products
  • Insurance & alternatives
  • Strategic thinking with hands-on execution mindset
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced environments
Certifications (Preferred)
  • AMFI / CFP / CFA (any)
  • NISM certifications
