Job Purpose:
The role is responsible for providing support to the Supervisor and Administrators. To ensure the accurate and timely production of royalty statements, the individual is responsible for analyzing royalty information as it relates to contracts/amendments and inputs that information into the Royalty Accounting System. The individual must be able to work under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines to fulfill corporate and legal obligations.
Key Accountabilities & Deliverables:
? Aiding workflow of the day-to-day functions (e.g., contract entries; clearing sales suspense; etc)
? Assisting in analyzing and interpreting contracts, amendments, and abstract forms
? Inputting contract and financial information relating to royalties into the royalty system as well as performing general contract maintenance
? Assisting in clearing royalty sales suspense and subsidiary rights deferred items
? Assisting in responding/resolving inquiries/requests from business units; editorial groups; legal department; contracts department; authors; agents and other groups both from inside and outside Pearson
? Training
Participating in system enhancement training and development
Participating in intra-department training
? Providing general support to Supervisor and Contract Administrators
? Special projects as needed 2 Candidate Profile:
Related work and academic experience
? Work experience with contracts is preferable, ideally in publishing business/royalties
? A college degree is desirable but may be waived for significant work-related experience
? Familiar with accounting functions
? Customer service experience is preferable Essential skills and competencies
? Excellent written/verbal English communication skills
? Organizational skills
? Ability to work independently without direct supervision
? Ability to work well within and across teams
? Analytical nature
? Time management skills
? Ability to deal with deadlines and pressure effectively
? Ability to analyze/ interpret legal documents
? Proficiency in all Microsoft applications
? Multilingual skills a plus
